"Out There" 2013 Setlist Critique and Suggestions
-
Hey? Just thought I'd get this thread ready for tomorrow? Saving Martin some sweat on creating the thread. We have one confirmed song that was played tonight at the rehearsal, and the platform is right in the same spot as the rehearsal photos. The confirmed song is "Let 'Em In" Just 24 hours and counting....

Just because he played Let 'Em In at rehearsal, doesn't necessarily mean it will make it to the actual shows... though actually I wouldn't mind it staying. It's one of those songs that, even though I've already heard it at several of my shows over the years, I never get tired of it, unlike some other worn out tunes.

Ugh. Hopefully this one is just a run through for soundcheck type songs. Really don't want it back in the main set...
-
People... Songs like that are kind of his 'default mode' in soundcheck ;). Doesn't mean a thing about the BRAND NEW SET tomorrow night.

I was outside the stadium with other fans and we could hear the soundcheck. The setlist seems incredible, but it is real. I do not remember the correct order, though: Blue Suede Shoes Got To Get You Into My Life Sing The Changes Let 'Em In Calico Skies We Can Work It Out Eight Days A Week Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite Lovely Rita Another Day Hope Of Deliverance Listen To What The Man Said Hi Hi Hi All Together Now Your Mother Should Know Blackbird Here Today

Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite???

That really is incredible! If just a fraction of those were to make the official setlist at one of the concerts I go to, I would be in awe.
-
It's just after 5am on the day of the concert there atm. Will there be another soundcheck in the afternoon?

Love these.... Eight Days A Week Another Day Hope Of Deliverance Listen To What The Man Said All Together Now Not so intrested in these: Blue Suede Shoes Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite Lovely Rita Hi Hi Hi Your Mother Should Know
-
If this is real, then wow... Some fascinating choices... Not sure why Mr. Kite, and Eight Days A Week would be performed... I'd prefer him to stick to songs when Paul originally sang lead.... and neither seems like they'd make a 'tribute' song.... but I'm still intrigued nonetheless.... And pretty shocking that he'd play Hi Hi Hi, in 2013. All Together Now, Lovely Rita, and Your Mother Should Know.... awesome! And thrilled about Listen To What The Man Said, though nervous about Wix doing synthesized sax on the keyboards.... As for Blue Suede Shoes, maybe just them having fun in rehearsal, and not meant for the real show.... Been a while since he did any live covers during a tour, other than one-offs in select cities.... Twenty Flight Rock and Aint That A Shame in 89-90.... and Good Rockin Tonight in 93..... cant think of any since, where they were played at all shows....

I basically agree with all the above, I was worried what Letting Go would sound like without a horn section, but it actually sounded pretty good with Wix alone. He did It's So Easy in Texas, too - the Holly connection...but I can't see Blue Suede Shows fitting into a proper show...unless he does that in Memphis.
-
WOW! Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite would be the real oddity there. Lovely Rita and Your Mother Should Know are highly overdue. Very, very interesting soundcheck!
-
That was the rehearsal. Today will be the soundcheck. Half of those are just for soundcheck...I would think.
-
Not sure why Paul is rehearsing BFTBOMK as its 100% John, unless its used a tribute song, and would think Blue Suede Shoes is just a soundcheck song. As for the following; All Together Now- never imagined that in a live show, but I could be swayed!! Your Mother Should Know- Ditto Lovely Rita, Another Day, LTWTMS, Eight Days a Week, Hi Hi Hi would be great additions to Paul's show. Still not heard Let em in, We can work it out, Calico Skies and Hope of Deliverance so fingers crossed

Thanks for the list! Some good choices in there. Can't wait to see what makes the setlist.

If he is going include Mr Kite and Eight Days a week then I would say that A Day in the life/Day Tripper will be taken out.
