I wish he would drop Ob-La-Di Ob-La-da, All together now and the long and winding road.

5th-beatle:
I wish he would drop Let Me Roll It, Paperback Writer and Lady Madonna.
I'll never get tired of "Let Me Roll It" but that's just personal taste...always one of my all-time favorite Wings tracks. "Paperback Writer" and "Lady Madonna" I'm sick of...but they could certainly be someone else's 'all-time favorites' too!
I think I heard Let Me Roll It is also Nancy's favorite. So...

I'm okay with all of them right now...I've accepted Long and Winding Road in that never-leaving "Hey Jude" category. The songs I would like to see go are... -Eight Days a Week...I'm ready for a new opener! -Temporary Secretary...simply don't like it. -Paperback Writer...overdone. -Maybe I'm Amazed...too risky with his voice these days. -Lady Madonna...overdone. -Eleanor Rigby...overdone. -Back in The USSR...overdone. -Helter Skelter...also risky for his voice/overdone. Of course, this is from the perspective of someone coming up on their 8th and 9th macca shows this summer, not a first or even second time fan. The songs in bold I have heard at EVERY show I've attended, listed below...

Having been at both London shows and hearing Temp Sec's debut it sounded really great, but with it being it's first live outing the surprise has gone by the second so it was less engrossing! I agree with all the rest, though Eight Days A Week still sounded terrific both nights. A little surprised he did Eight Days at both London gigs, he normally shuffles the opener if he plays the same venue twice?

Agree with most of your selection although I like EDAW as an opener, with Temporary Secretary its great he took the risk to play an obscure song, but cant see it being there after this tour.
-
I know some are tired of Eight Days A Week, but I think it is a great, energetic song. I would rather him open with that than, say, Magical Mystery Tour. He should open with Junior's Farm.
-
Magical Mystery Tour is a great song and opener but I'm afraid it's not flattering for his voice.
-
I think the ultimate (Beatle) opener would be I Want To Hold Your Hand. But if not, I'd like to see him bring back Please Please Me ...as an opener this time.

I happen to really like EDAW as an opener - I think it's strong, energetic, and fun. I do like the idea of having Please Please Me as an opener too - maybe one for the next tour or one that he could rotate in, like he does with MMT. IWTHYH would likewise be an AWESOME opener! -Rubber Soul13

Agree with list and could add some more. All Together Now - obscure song from Yellow Submarine - really Another Day - Played on a few tours and just mediocre song
-
Another Day a mediocre song??? Please. And All Together Now got a great response at each of the five shows I attended in 2014. As did Another Day.

Another Day - Played on a few tours and just mediocre song
It was his first single after the Beatles split, and a worldwide hit in 1971...done live on the '93 New World Tour, then not for 20 years until 2013. It was also the first song release co-written by both Paul and Linda McCartney, with the album Ram to follow. Not a classic , but certainly good!
-
Maybe because it contains one of his most profound lyrics ("I Go Back So Far, I'm In Front Of Me") I really think Paul should do "The World Tonight". Now that would be a cool concert opener!!

"Ebony and Ivory" was #1 in USA and only played on one tour. "Take It Away " was #10 in USA and has never been played live so I don't get the big deal about "Another Day".

Yes, it is my opinion it is a medicore song. People hate "Ebony and IVory" and it was #1. In other words, people have different opinions. I was at the 1993 show in Charlotte NC and "Another Day" got lukewarm response. Not bad but nothing noteworthy.

Chart positions don't mean a thing towards Paul's setlist, and I don't think they ever have. He's never been in a position to worry about that. And to add my two cents, I'll take "All Together Now" at my shows this summer. It's enjoyable and gets a great crowd response...but I think I'll have my fill after that. I'd love to see "Another Day" stick around but again, after this summer it'll be four times I've heard it...I'd have no problem with a swap for another SOLO song.
-
Too bad he didn't play I saw her standing here last night in Amsterdam:/
-
A song I was thinking about right now is "The World Tonight". I think it would be very good live with a slightly heavy fuller band sound. It's a pretty rocking song but the recording on "Flaming Pie" is more homemade one-man band type of thing.

I agree, very cool song. I believe it was the first single off FP.

" Fine if "All Together Now" is getting good response, it is just something I would not care to hear from Mr. McCartney. I find it funny that people "blasted" Mr. McCartney for his "1,2,3,4,5" lyric from the song "Driving Rain" but will happily sing along to the "1,2,3,4" lyric in "All Together Now" - lol. Like I have said several times, I have often shaken my head at some of his selections. If it was a choice between "Another Day" and another Beatle song, I would keep "Another Day". I just feel he can replace it when there are so many other songs he has not played ever or in 20-30 yrs. Glad you agree your world would not end if another solo song replaced it - lol
