I can't tell you how much i would pay to watch the show you've put together rubber soul. Every little detail you have included is perfect. Bravo!
Thanks Applejacket and oobu! Hoping *maybe* we'll get some great surprises like this in the upcoming tour.

Following the rubric set by RS13, I've filled one in. Mine sticks to Paul's present format moreso yet includes only 14 songs from the current setlist. I think a show like this would make every kind of fan happy. This setlist is only tailored as one that is promoting Egypt Station. That being said, I wish there were a wider array of solo songs, but I feel like this is the BEST case scenario of what PAul could do if only he'd take the time in rehearsals (paired with the confidence on stage) to do so. I missed the mark on the 10 Wings songs, clocking in at 8...too bad.lol The instrument changes follow the same sequence of the current show, staging stays the same (minus the damn mini stage) I also did more Beatles-Lennon than I'd like, but that's because Paul has been leaning that way for years now. Anyhow...thoughts?

It would go over a lot better than I think he thinks it would. I'm also not sure why he's okay with Wix sampling every other instrument under the sun, but heaven forbid there aren't authentic bagpipes on stage!

It would go over fantastically! But reason I said that is because it would be cost-prohibitive. Paul hasn’t had live horns since 1976, you think he’d pay all those bagpipers every show?

Nice setlist Wix! Some of the things that I like in particular...
- Inclusion of Helen Wheels (I feel like he could swap out Hi Hi Hi with Helen Wheels)
- Inclusions of Martha My Dear and All Things Must Pass (glad we agree on those things!)
- Variety of songs from Egypt Station
- Putting Despite Repeated Warnings toward the end of the main set; it almost builds credibility for the new album
- Shaking it up by placing Let It Be in the encore

Very nice wish list but you know it will not happen with the exception of some of the Egypt Station songs. I will fall down from shock if he opened with a song from Egypt Station, would be wonderful if he did. If he did for some reason, I think it would be "Come On To Me". I have been saying for years he should do "All Things Must Pass", time to give "Something" a rest and he has done the song wonderfully before IMO. If he wants to continue to do tribute to Lennon, would be nice if he switched it up and did "Early Days". Love the song "Warm And Beautiful" but I am willing to bet you an adult beverage (lol) that he probably does not even remember he wrote that song - ha ha. I will be very interested in his set list for this tour. He might actually have a #1 hit album again and if this does not give him confidence to play 5-6 songs from it live, I freaking give up !!

With the imminent rerelease of Imagine and by extension a bit of focus on Ho Do You Sleep, I wonder if it’s time to give the John & George tributes a bit of a rest? As a set opener I always thought We’re Open Tonight (played in darkness) exploding in to brightness with So Glad to See You Here would be exciting. Similar but different to Venus and Mars/Rockshow.

I know that was just a typo, but I almost spit out my drink laughing at “Ho Do You Sleep” - the rap version!

Great songs to open with! And I agree he can skip the individual tributes because aren't ALL of the Beatles songs tributes?

AND...if the darn spell check worked automatically errors like that would be caught.

That would be a cool opener but McCartney opening with songs from "Back To The Egg" have about as much chance of even being considered as me becoming POTUS - lol. As for tributes, I think he does not need to do them all the time anymore and if he still does them it would be nice to at least change the songs.

My only problem with this list is there are no songs from his solo career that have never/rarely been done live with the exception of songs from Egypt Station. Why not songs like "Take It Away", "That Was Me", "Little Willow", "Promise To You Girl" etc? Sure "Helen Wheels" is cool song but he has covered BOTR basically from beginning to end.
-
He's simply not going to do solo songs that he doesn't have a reason to promote and that weren't massive hits. I think the only exception in 21st century touring is "Temporary Secretary"...and that went over well...pretty terribly.

Five solo songs I'd like to see him do - My Brave Face (great bass line imo), Dear Boy (I could see this almost in the same setting as Yesterday; Paul with acoustic and Wix on keyboards), Backseat of My Car, Tug of War, Pipes of Peace. Tough choice but personally I'd probably like to see Pipes of Peace most. He could squeeze it in the grand piano block somewhere in between My Valentine and Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five.
If I could edit my setlist on the previous page, Pipes of Peace would probably be the one addition I'd like to add!

I can hear the warble in my head now...Paul would not do those five songs much justice. Particularly the "RAM" songs...that was his vocal peak (imo)...anything live from that album would be a let down simply because of the current condition of his voice. The time to play "My Brave Face" was summer of 2017 when FITD was remastered, but he's never bothered to recognize that onstage...the faultering vocals would've been forgiveable in that instance. Same goes for "Tug of War" and "Pipes of Peace"...all five of those songs have very demanding (and high) vocal melodies. That's the big issue. He couldn't even sing the high notes in "Fuh You" and he JUST recorded that.
That's not to say there aren't options. The biggest softball of his solo career that he has stared past on the live stage would be "Take it Away". It was a moderate hit, casual macca solo fans know it, it's easy to sing a long to, sits low in the melodic register, is uptempo, AND appeases the hardcore fans as it has never been done. 2018 Sir Paul could still sing that one VERY well, live...but he won't.

Totally agree with everything you said! Dear Boy would be a train wreck at his “Egypt” station!

We all know by now but it is nice to dream otherwise that once a album is not his current one that he is promoting, the songs for the most part (90-95%) will never be heard from again live. Myself and others have shown that he can still play 25 hits (Beatles/Wings) to give first timers a great night and use the remaining 10 songs to play things that more hardcore fans would love to hear. Like you said, "Take It Away" is still in his vocal "wheelhouse" but just will not do it- oh well. The only interesting thing to me about this tour will be his selection of songs from Egypt Station. Once he plays 4-5 shows, we will all get the idea and will not need to check his set list from city to city.

Yes. That Tim Christensen does a great version. I once heard a girl band do it but I can't find them right now.
