The Final Tour??
-
The man is 80... Ticket prices for this tour for 1 single Paul are more than Rolling Stones(3 guys). It appears its the final run in each territory he is playing, and he is trying to maximixe the $$$ on his way out.
Only the smaller venues and LA /BOS are sold out or close to sold. Most other vensues including NJ are wide open. Ticket deals will be had on the secondary market, just be patient, adn you will get the seat you what.
However, if you are on the ledge about seeing him, do it now. This is most likely the last US tour sans an occasional spot show here and there. Its over!

Na. He'll keep going til he can't.

Actually I think he will keep going ....he said he never thinks of a tour as the last one. As long as he CAN tour, he will tour....he loves it. It's what he lives for. John once said Paul would always be touring. Seriously....what else would he do? Paul is also a workaholic and sitting home and relaxing is not his thing.
I am hoping for another leg of this tour....for those of us in the Midwest. Maybe in the fall? I totally got skunked on tickets for Oakland.

Sad but true. I think it was "Bruce M" who said this tour reminds him of when an "over the hill" Mohammed Ali fought when he should have retired years ago. Paul's voice is pretty much shot and it will be painful to hear him sing this way when we all remember how strong and beautiful that voice once was years ago. I get it most of the audience will not care as they will be happy to sing along to Beatle songs no matter what his voice sounds like.

Well, since you asked .....how about if he spent the time writing and recording new songs instead of wasting time performing songs he's already done before?

Correct, but I think we are at that point. At some point the voice...even in its's current shape cant got 3 1/2 hours which includes the soundcheck. Can't see him doing much more live shows after this year. To think he will be doing 15-20 shows a year 3-5 years from now is wishful thinking. Mother nature always wins...

Well if can survive avoiding contracting covid-19 at these massive super spreader concerts in the U.S. anything is possible.

Actually it is "Father Time" that wins not "Mother Nature" -lol.

Well if you read enough interviews and books about Paul you will understand that he is nourished by concerts, contacts with the fans.....he said in a Howard stern interview "it is energizing" in a way that recording isn't. Recording is a more solitary experience....he loves the people. Always has. That's why he is still touring....he loves it.
when he walks onstage the response is overwhelming....I imagine it's pretty hard to let go of that! -

Whoever photoshopped this doesn't think his touring days are over!

I think it's more than ego, I think he truly loves it. Not saying he has no ego (of course!) but there's an energy you get from performing that's way beyond just ego stroking. It's not an accident that after the Beatles split, Paul was the only one to get right back on the road as soon as he could get an act together, and has largely kept at it all the time. Ringo, of course, joined the party eventually with his All-Starr Band shows, but in the seventies it was really only Paul touring consistently. I think he'll do it till he drops though, as I've said, I personally wish he wouldn't.

I agree he loves it and of course the adoration he receives strokes his ego. Just think how he seems to be upset when audience for the most part is not very enthusiastic when he plays non Beatle/Wings song. Obviously he does not need the money but touring is how performers make the big bucks today and he pads his wealth for his family. He is definitely wired differently because if I was him I would be enjoying life in St. Barts/ Santorini and other cool places instead of doing a show in Winston Salem NC - lol. He has plenty of things he can do to keep creatively active and if he truly loves performing that much, he could so a few shows once in awhile at small venue (Carvern Club for example) instead of a big tour. God love him, he is amazing at 80 years old !!

Well, your wish came true since he is performing today in the little town of Frome in Somerset at a small joint called the Cheese & Grain for £25 a head!
-
Sort of neat, it is fifty years after the first Wings tour, cheap prices at University unions so maybe this Frome thing is a little bit of nostalgia for the early 1970s. I have my own 70s nostalgia for the other end of the decade so I know how it is, mine centering on wrapping up my graduate work, etc. I wasn't performing live!

Yep, I saw that a few minutes ago and responded in another thread. If he does not play some "McCartney III" songs and maybe 2-3 different solo songs, than I really do give up -lol
