I've seen the Who's sound checks and they're fun, but not engaging. I'd read Sir Paul goes for about an hour, and really interacts with the fans.

The real kicker is - I can only go to Night Two (of a two-night stand). So I presume there will be less sound-checking than on Night One. Is that true? Can anyone speak from experience?

I'm also limiting what I'll spend, so sticker shock may, well, shock me.

      Thanks!

I've been lucky enough to have attended nine McCartney soundchecks since 2010. I don't believe any of them was a "second night show", but I can't imagine the soundcheck length being any diffent from the first night. VIP packages that include the soundcheck as you may know are not cheap...in previous tours they ranged from $1500.00 to $2000.00 each...but in my opinion, for any McCartney fan they are definitely worth it! We'll find out tomorrow what the cost is for the new tour.

That may be tough to swing $$$ wise. That's more than my first car!

I saw Paul in 91 in Atlanta and 14 at Candlestick. My attitude is I want the best experience possible, for who knows when it will happen again, but not at the expense of missing a house payment...! Phew!

We attended both sound checks at the Hollywood Bowl in 2010.  The 2nd was as good as the first.  If you can go to the 2nd soundcheck, by all means, go!

I've been to 3 soundchecks in 2013, 2014 & 2017 (see below) The best was Duluth, GA where I was in the first row of people standing behind section 2 in the middle - like 25 rows away! They were all pretty great though, but nobody got called up on stage.

                Omni, Atlanta, GA May 18, 1976, Feb. 17, 1990

GA Dome, Atlanta, GA May 1, 1993

Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA May 12, 2002

FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN May 26, 2013

Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA Oct. 15, 2014

Infinite Energy Center, Duluth, GA July 13, 2017

Bon Secours Arena, Greenville, SC May 30, 2019

I wonder if they will still be doing a lunch buffet ? Maybe that will be cancelled because of Covid.

Can anyone with past experience tell me more about the info we'll receive for Soundcheck? Right now, all I've received is the receipt and confirmation of purchase of our tickets and the package etc. I assume they'll send instructions about times, parking, entrances etc.?

Yes. When it gets closer to your show date, you will receive an email frm SloTix with all that detailed information. Usually it comes about a week before. And check your spam filter, they often show up there first. 🙂

We went to the soundcheck at the last tour in San Jose and we thought it was worth it - basically an extra hour or so of show, with different set of songs including covers.

We thought it was worth it - the only drawback is that we were not up against the stage but standing in the aisle behind  the first block of seats.

Yes...all sound check information will be sent to you via e-mail about a week before the show.

It will indicate when and where to report along with a few "do's and dont's" that you should be aware of.

If this is your first one...you're in for a real treat...this will be my 10th and I'm still psyched!!

How early does everything usually start with a Hot Sounds package? We just grabbed a pair for LA! The price was a little painful, but still super excited!

Depending on Paul's schedule, VIP's usually are asked to be there around 3:30 pm and the sound check can start anywhere from 4:30 to 5:00 pm. Your e-mail notification will advise you about a week before the show.

Many of the shows like a stadium or arena, you can hear the sound check outside. I've been to Detroit, and Verona both open stadiums where it seemed Paul went out of his way, even having a shout out to those of us outside listening. Not sure what venue you are at?

My wife would kill me or ask if I was crazy if I told her I wanted to spend that amount of money on concert/soundcheck just for me.  To each their own, enjoy !!

While all of the soundchecks I attended were with my younger son, my wife actually attended the last one we went to in California and she really enjoyed it. Over the years it became more apparent that  we don't know what the future will bring us. My life theory is to enjoy it while we can. I'm not saying blow your life savings and struggle to get by, but a "treat" now and then sure makes living fun. Just my 2 cents.

Totally agree. We all have our favorite ways to spend money on things we enjoy. My wife and I are more into saving for travel than splurging on something like tickets for concert/soundcheck.
