@wandy The Jackson family sold ATV Music Corp to Sony after Michael died
Yes, that’s what I said yesterday. And Calico posted your thread about the songs that have reverted back to Lenono & MPL.
-
@njr I think that's a repeat from a few weeks ago.

You mean Mary on The Tonight Show? I know. I missed it on Dec. 8th though and thought maybe others had too.
-
@paulfan11 Yep, & it's been on youtube for more than a week.
-
@oobu24 The rest of The Tonight Show was really good - Martin Short & Steve Martin were a hoot!

OMG, Paul!
Somebody said the driver looked like Pete Best but I don't belive that
-
@wandy
That is very surprising with the driver. The one time I crossed Abbey Road, the drivers were very patient with tourists doing their thing. It just shows, there is always some jerk no matter where you live. Thankfully all is ok.

Have to concede yours is better than mine. I wonder if "3 legs"( Ram) was Paul's vision of the future

ROTFLMAO!

I would think Mary would have almost been hit since the good photo location is by the intersection!
-
@njr This is actually shown at the very end of the documentary. It's a blue Prius that almost hits Paul.
-
@kㅤ Depends where she was standing when taking the photo. I’ve taken photos from the safety of the monument/island on the left in that pic. I haven’t seen the documentary so I don’t know.

I was very fortunate, many years ago (I think 1998) to get an inside look of Abbey Road Studios, of course with Studio 2 being the high point... Has anyone else been inside? Do they do tours now?

I went inside Studio 2 in 1983. Best £6.00 Yes 6 English pounds!! I've ever spent. I posted here, somewhere, a picture of Ringo's drumkit, except it fake!! I only realised it was fake later on. Paul's fake Hofner bass was there. I seem to remember only the Hammond organ ( Mr Moonlight) and the Steinway piano, Paul played on, was real. But hey ho! The studio itself was, and is, real. They played outtakes from the Beatles recording sessions. The guy said they didn't know what to do with these recordings, because it was the Beatles. They couldn't sell them, and they couldn't destroy them. 11 years later they released The Anthology. Seems like they had found a "use" for them after all

Just to add to my comment: About 10 yrs ago, or so, I was lucky enough to visit Trident Studios in St Anne's Court, London, where the Beatles recorded Hey Jude, and other tracks. Got a personal guided tour, by Studio owner, Peter Hughes ( I don't think he's the owner now) We went in the "drum room" used by Ringo. And he played us the Master tapes of Hey Jude!! And other recordings by other artists. Needless to say the recording quality was beeee ewwww tiiii full!!. Rick Wakeman was the resident piano player there. He would beg and cajole artists to let him play keyboards for them on their recordings. He uncredited on loads of recordings, recorded in Trident Studios. When they installed the Trident Studios console, it recorded all the recordings at the wrong speed. They couldn't understand why Then they realised the problem. The console was imported from America and was still set to the American recording settings. Once they set them to the British settings, all was ok. I filmed my visit. My film is
here on Maccaboard somewhere. It's called Trident Studios. The Visit. -

Well, when I got a look into Studio 2.... it was empty. I thought the studio would be full of Beatles memorabilia. Foolishly... But, no... not even pictures on the wall. It exhibited no signs of the Beatles ever having being there.... actually, from memory, there wasn't even a sign of a musical instrument... completely barren. Just a huge floor space!... Empty... We found our way to the other studio where I knew they did the Rockestra theme. That was also cool.

It seems you went just as a normal visit. When I went in 1983, it was especially organised as a Beatles thing. It actually was set up as though the Beatles were going to do a show ( I wish lol) All the instruments were set up like they would be on a concert stage. All it needed was JPG & R to come in and play. I had my photo taken while I sat at Ringo's ( fake ) drumkit. Sadly, I haven't a clue where that photo is now️ I also sat at Pete Best's drumkit when i visited The Casbah club in Haymans Green, Liverpool. I also videoed my visit to the Casbah Club. Got told off by Roag Best when i put my film on Youtube. But he was very polite about, so polite I removed it. I felt bad about putting it on Youtube.
