Just curious to know which albums you prefer between Let It Be and LIB Naked. Me? Let It Be.
-
@wandy I prefer to listen to LIB Naked naked.
-
@njr Err, sorry, got to clarify your reply. "I like to listen to Let It Be Naked naked". Hmm interesting response Gotta ask (sorry) are you saying you like to listen to "Let It Be Naked", without any clothes on????

That’s nice to hear. I have a problem telling when Brits are kidding/joking though since they (you) are so convincing.
(and if there’s anything I write that you don’t understand, please just Google it - I have to do that a lot - not with you - I mean other times, in general) -
@njr Yes

No human facial expression (winking smiling) to help show its a joke. But hey! I'm having fun, even if nobody else is

@wandy Now that Let It Be has been remixed by Giles Martin to fix some of Phil Spector's excessiveness, I like it better. Otherwise, it would be LIB Naked. Easy call. Now, I just want Giles to give the same treatment to "Rubber Soul." That album begs for a remix to properly place the vocals and instrumentation....and the single "We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper" left off the album too....although those two sound quite good on the "1" album, and "Nowhere Man" was nicely remixed years ago on "The Yellow Submarine Songtrack" album. That one clearly showed how great all the songs on "...Soul" can and should sound. It's vastly superior to the version on "....Soul."

Good and interesting comment, even though I disagree with all of it. I love reading/hearing other fans comments about Beatles albums.

I would have to say I prefer Let it Be naked, it sounds much more clear. I know @wandy says you can't hear that much of a difference in the remasters, but I think this is the one that is worth having.
-
I definitely prefer "Naked" (whether or not I'm personally clothed while listening, hehe). The Spector version is an abomination.

But don't you like the "live" Beatles banter between tracks on LIB?

Bruce, you are my kind of people!

I love all versions of this album..... and I know that The Long and Winding Road is the great divider for some..... but, I love the "original" Spector version. No problem with it.
As we know, Paul hated it.... overproduced... and, as I've said before, that's strange... because his reimagined version on Give My Regards To Broadstreet is just as "produced"... if not, more overproduced.... Actually... more overproduced.
I love all versions of that song. Stripped down. Produced. Over-produced.... Got no problem with the Spector version.
And I love the album. Bare or thick.... I think the madman Spector did a good job.

If the Beatles were so concerned about the Production of LIB, then they shouldn't have abandoned the project, and handed it over to somebody else. It's like giving somebody free reign, or carte
blanch, to decorate your house, then after they are finished, you moan incessantly about what they have done. I personally prefer Let It Be. LIB Naked is fine. I also like disc2 of LIB Naked. -
@wandy No, the banter wasn't even slightly amusing and was forced. Everything about the Spector version was dreadful....especially "The Long and Winding Road!!!" All that syrup and that heavenly choir was sickening. Thank God Giles Martin came in and fixed it. Finally. Now it's the version I prefer, even though I still like "...Naked."

You know, I have to agree with you toris. I haven’t listened to Let It Be…Naked since it came out in 2003 (ducks rotten tomatoes) but I know I liked it, and I have always liked the original version. I have the Remastered version too that came out in 2021.

John had some of the funniest stuff and it certainly didn’t sound “forced” to me: “I hate (or Ain’t?) Dig A Pygmy by Charles Hawtrey and the Deaf-Aids (laughter from someone) Phase one in which Doris gets her oats!” and right before Paul does Let It Be on the piano, “And now we’d like to do ‘Hark, the Angels Come’”
Giles did do a great job on the Remaster though. -

Giles did do a great job on the Remaster though.LOL!! yes. Hark the angels come. Referring to Paul's "granny music". John's description, not mine. But I did like the original Let It Be album, complete with banter, more so, than LIB Naked. LN, I felt was a bit sterile by comparison. But I'm happy to listen to either.

No, he wasn’t referring to “granny music!” The reference was the fact that “Let It Be” sounded like a Christmas hymn.
