At the end of "Now and Then," is that Ringo's voice saying "one" or "good morning?"
As for the entire track, Paul is performing a guitar solo in the middle ala George and George is performing his guitar solo at the end.
Your thoughts....

I did not have high expectations for this song, but I will admit I liked it much better than I thought I would. IMO it is just a better song than the two they did for the Anthology many years ago. It was great hearing John's voice again and they did great job "isolating" his voice from the demo. Paul and Ringo backup vocals were very good and loved what they did instrumentally. Finally, the title of this song is just perfect. It wraps a bow around the Beatles recording history in a very nice and nostalgic way.

At this point I've only been able to listen on my crappy laptop speaker, so I'm not really getting the full experience, but this seems like a very solid finale to the Beatles story. It's not quite top-tier Beatles, but it's good. Apparently Lennon's original demo included a bridge that was not salvageable, and some folks on Steve Hoffman's boards are lamenting its absence. I'm sure it would have made the song more complete, but even 2023 technology has it's limitations.
I have, of course, ordered the CD single so I can give it a proper listen on a decent stereo, but I'm sure that will take a while to get here.
I gotta say, this is turning out to be a good year to be a Beatles fan. First we get a surprisingly strong EP from Ringo, with Paul on board, and now this. Not bad for a band that broke up 53 years ago.

By the way, "Now and Then" already has over 1.5 million views on YouTube, even though the actual video isn't out, just the audio.

It seems it really was a "labor of love" for Paul & Ringo to finish this song. John sounds great and I really liked the song more than I ever expected I would. The title of this song is just freaking perfect for their "last" song. BTW - during the Anthology did you notice the drum set had "Suzy and the Red Stripes" on it - thought that was interesting. The reviews I have read have been for the most part quite positive.
