I rather like the title song of his new EP
, which I just pre-ordered. And of course, there's a song by Paul. -
Amazon finally has it and I pre-ordered it from them. (several weeks ago)
-
I preordered it as well about the time Ringo played Atlanta and Amazon gave me a ludicrous late November delivery date even though release is just days away. So over the weekend, I cancelled that order and reordered on Amazon, just like before, and now I have delivery date of Monday, October 16. Strange but true.
-
@john-mackintosh That’s weird! Mine has always said it is to be released on Oct. 13th, but hasn’t given me a delivery date. Usually things arrive that day or the next.
-
I ordered it from Ringo's online store (on principle I don't do business with Amazon) and they said it would ship Oct. 13, the release date. They haven't promised when it will arrive (which is probably smart, as mail to Hawaii is, uh, unpredictable in my experience).
-
@john-mackintosh I just checked my Amazon order and it does say it will be delivered on Oct. 13th!
-
@bruce-m Just curious, what’s the reason you don’t do business with Amazon?
-
@njr Because it's a horrible company that exploits workers and mistreats small vendors who sell on their site. Re: treatment of workers, here's just one recent story.
Separately, I just got notified that my "Rewind Forward" EP has shipped.
-
And here's Ringo's new song written by Paul!
-
My EP just arrived!

Given the unreliability of mail service to Hilo, I'll feel lucky if mine arrives by Monday. I've listened to 2 of the songs online and am deliberately waiting on the rest till my copy gets here.

@jimmix tHE NEW SON
The new song Paul wrote for Ringo for his Rewind Forward EP is sort of okay. With Paul's musical gifts I would have hoped for something a little more catchy and memorable. This one isn't much of either, to my ears. The title cut is the best on the EP and worthy of purchase. "Feeling the Sunlight" is a pass for me.
-
My CD still isn't here -- USPS tracking says it arrives tomorrow! -- but I rather like "Feeling the Sunlight." No, it's not profound, but it's light, fun, and well suited to Ringo's voice.
-
It arrived! USPS was correct, the info from Ringo's online store was bananas. Just listened once so far, and my initial take is that it's pretty good, rather standard Ringo fare.
-
Just listening to Ringo singing Paul’s “Feeling the Sunlight” as the rain clouds clear out and the sun comes out in my little portion of the world. This is really a strong Paul song done at Hog Hill Mill with him doing all instruments (except drums and percussion by Ringo) and backing vocals. Reads like the line up of a track off the White album doesn’t it? Great song!

I don't know that I'd go so far as calling it "great," but it's good, solid fun and very Ringo-ish.

After living with Ringo's EP for nearly 2 weeks and playing it a bunch of times, I have to hand it to Ringo. Every single track is playing nonstop in my head. I think this is the best thing he's done in a while, at least of the recordings I've heard.
