Herc: try the book "Mindfulness" by Bhante Gunaratana. It is the single best book on meditation I've found. Also, someone in a much earlier post mentioned Yognanda. He wrote a great book called "The Yoga of Jesus". Highly recommended.

Since when did George own 49% of GM? I demand the facts now.

Damn Tor! You tore (pardon a pun today!) Krishna up in that, so when did you first start making jokes about Krishna? ..er pardon me Vishnu! ..No that time I just sneezed.. guzhuntiet sorry Vishna! No Vishnu! Godbless Kathryn O, I?ll go out on a limb and say those gummy bears are ridiculously good. And oddly close to holy! Hare Krishna does sort of make you feel happy if you think about it long enough. Hey tor, who's that in the photo in your avatar?

I fancy this thread mainly for rikki red streak's moving and evocative description of meditation and "who we really are" deep down It's a little bit striking to me that George mentioned Vishnu and Krishna in that Anthology snippet in which they discussed Elvis, and I mention Vishnu and Krishna in my little poem here. Then too George H. appeared briefly in a dream I had the other night. Or maybe his appearance lasted longer, and I just didn't recall it all. I hope it wasn't a sign I might perish soon. But maybe I might get to meet George then? (LOL) Daddy was rushing about in excited fashion in a recent dream. I shouldn't set such store by dreams (?) . But some dreams are so stunning, amazing, remarkable I don't think they're always just a bunch of nothin' (far from it!).

Hungarians such as myself believe that it is very significant to recieve dreams of the dead. It doesn't mean you'll perish soon or anything like that. If they spoke to you, it is very significant.

I should also mention that I have dreams of George a lot. He tells me things that then come true so whoever this is in my dreams, I'm listening to him. I got attacked on his own message board for talking about that with another person who also had the same experience. It sucks when you can't even talk about George on his own board. I stayed my ground and fought back but the other girl, she left because she couldn't take it. I wish George woud appear in the dreams of the person who ruined our fun and tell them to lay off.

Thanks, Katherine. I too believe those sorts of dreams are of great import. George said something in mine, but I can't remember what he said. Eastern Philosophy "silly voodoo?" Certain frivolous aspects might be, not the deepest parts which are magnificent, and impart great hope and inspiration to those with ears to hear it. Christianity too has esoteric parts and even the exoteric portions have much to offer
