I agreed with most of that. Especially that the only way to do it justice would be to have it as a mini-series of eight 1-hour shows! There was just so much stuff (filmed performances) that was left out!
-
Its very possible that Ron Howard will make sequels!

"There's a very good two hours long podcast discussing Howard's film and the Shea film, which includes important interviews with insiders working with the production crew, Chuck Gunderson and Erik Taros. It's hosted by Robert Rodriguez and Richard Buskin." Here is the podcast that Roger refers to: http://somethingaboutthebeatles.com/72-ron-howards-beatles-eight-days-a-week/

Yes, it could have been longer. I enjoyed the film and the Shea Concert enough that I'm driving an hour each way to see again this weekend. It's more fun to see on the big screen than on my computer or television. Roll with the punches, quit criticizing everything and enjoy. That is what I did the first time and will do this weekend. Live and let live.

I doubt that very seriously. Even though I agreed with the author of that article, I still enjoyed the film immensely!

Hi Nancy! How are you? Lets hope that Ron will make a Beatles "Studio" years documentary!

I'm doing great Nancy, thanks for asking. Ron has to make a "studio years" doc, it would even be better if Ron would make a Beatles "solo" years doc. What do you think?

Saw it last night. I really enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. It was very well done, and loved seeing footage I have never seen before. I also really liked the Shea stadium concert.

What I really enjoyed by seeing it in the theater was the sound. They had a great sound system where I saw it, and the Shea Stadium film was fantastic!

Wonder how this film differs from the Maysle brothers' documentary made when they followed the Fabs around on their first experience in the U.S. during the heights of Beatlemania when the boys first made it very very big.
The Maysles Bros. filmed the first U.S. visit in Feb. 1964 to New York, Washington, and Miami. This was released by The Beatles on DVD in 2004 as The First U.S Visit. Ron Howard's Eight Days A Week covers all the Touring Years, all over the world, and even the Concert on the Apple Rooftop at the very end. Some of the Maysle Bros. footage is in Eight Days A Week. Plus it has new (as in now) interviews with Paul and Ringo, which make this the definitive film.
Thanks, Randy

I may have to go for a 3rd time at the $4 movie place before Thursday.

The positive trend continues. The film has been extended for a third week in movie theatres. http//www.billboard.com/articles/news/7526633/beatles-eight-days-a-week-documentary-film-extended-theaters Theatre locations http//thebeatleseightdaysaweek.com/us/book-tickets/

Looks like Ron Howard has a hit on his hands, he should be thinking about filming a sequel!
-
A sequel called "Sgt Pepper and Beyond". Explore not only the studio masterpieces Sgt Pepper, Abbey Road, and The White Album; but the breakup and early solo careers of the boys.

This new Beatles' documentary might outsell 'A Hard Day's Night' movie!
