          I love the visual medium, but I'd be a hard ass traditionalist and get them to read Beatles Forever by Nicholas Schaffner.... a great introduction.

            Thanks all. Since he is a brand new potential fan (couldn't even name the 4 Beatles but don't be too hard on him as he's not a native English speaker), Compleat Beatles would be best. Didn't know it was available on youtube, so I'll go that route.
