Paul McCartney 2012 Rumours

Wishful thinking. He'd probably rather be closer to home so close to Christmas. Who knows.

He sort of did both in 2010. He did the Apollo gig in NYC BUT, it wasn't open to the public...just the XM subscribers...or else I SO would've been there!!! So it would nice to see him do maybe Radio City Music Hall, and do bring his Christmas theatre show to the states, for at least one date....of course, as long as I'm there.

No...he's coming to Chicago this time.

Maybe I'm Amazed, Manchester 2011
Absolutely dreadful. I can barely sit and listen to it. I can't believe I enjoyed hearing that at the show, it sounds so awful now. Oh wait.. That's a complete lie! Months later this performance still brought me to tears. It's easily the most difficult song vocally that he performs live and he nailed it that night. He also nailed it in Liverpool the next night. Paul does not, I repeat, DOES NOT need to be thinking about "packing it in" anytime soon.EEEK...there is still that awful falsetto part that he doesn't get too well anymore...right at 3:52. ouch!

That annoys me so much!! If he dropped that it would sound ok!

I don't know. He cancelled those gigs that where to happen about now and hasn't announced any new ones though he's been in the media with Ron Wood's show and all...I'm sort of worried a bit to tell you the truth.

Yes, his voice doesn't sound like it did on, say, Ram but he still sounds better than people half his age! Keep the live shows coming. Strange summer, for the first time since 2008, he isn't on the American road and I am missing it, as I know you are as well.

I thought maybe i'm amazed in Liverpool last December was frankly spell binding,it was raw and hell even a little rough but the sheer feeling being pumped out from the stage was fantastic. We all know he'll never sound as good as he did back in the '70's,we're all experts on this and that but the brutal truth is this a McCartney on half power still blows most of the modern day "stars" out of the water. I thought he sucked big time at the jubilee and i have grave doubts over the Olympics too (not from a Macca standpoint,i just have a bad feeling its going to be woeful)i do hope there's a few Christmas gigs this years here in the UK but my gut is telling me we wont see him on tour till next year

I don't know...how bad can he screw up Hey Jude?

It's always amazing when YOU ARE THERE in person. That is a given.

sorry folks 'maybe im amazed' was amazing e.t.c it actually worries me that anyone on here could think that.... p.s i actually find it hard to believe that the same person who sung those sublime vocals in 1969/70 is the same person who kids himself into think he can still sing it today. very sad.

I suspect you are the only one who is sad about this particular issue.

sorry to burst your bubble again but believe me the handfull of people on here that think paul can still sing this song are POSSIBLY the only few people in the whole world[macca fans or not] who would think this. be my guest,do your own market research and play a recent live version of paul singing 'maybe im amazed' to your family or friends. perhaps once you have gathered your results you could come back on this thread and offer me a slight apology ........[only joking about the apology!] well i fear my dear that its elementry clear that you cant see the trees for the forest

My market research has already been done. McCartney played to sold out stadiums and arenas in Europe and Latin America this very year, with McCartney singing in "that" voice. So you lose. Yes, a few people out there agree with you. But 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999% do not. I'll make a wager with you. When McCartney retires because of some ridiculous comment you make on this forum about how he "kids himself" about how good or bad he sings, I'll apologize to you then. Until then, the numbers are on my side, not yours. In fact, I count about three people here who share your smug views, and a LOT more who share mine. There's some market research for you, mate!

This is ridiculous. For starts, this is the rumours thread, and it's being clogged up with this argument. But the bigger picture is...why are you even IN the Rock Show section, if you don't like what Paul does at his Rock Shows? :

I remember you really liking Paul's vocal on "Letting Go" two summers ago at the Hard Rock Calling stream-cast. Do you think Paul is still capable of doing that?

We'll get it back on track. In fact, this is a good time to speculate that Paul will definitely be at Bonnaroo in 2013 -- performing not as Paul McCartney... ...but as The Fireman. Let's see if that catches on.
