Paul's New Album-- "New"-- CONFIRMED
-
No that's not "insane," it might be kind of a hoot

SusyLuvsPaul:
You mean the "deluxe" cover is the colorful neon one that's kind of gorgeous and the "standard" cd cover is just those stark harsh black lines???!!!??
Don't worry Suzy, the neon design is in both. The black-and-white look was for the single. The difference between the standard and the deluxe is just color (the deluxe is more blue).

It didn't leaked. It's available to buy in all iTunes Stores worldwide from now on.
I don't think its available in the States yet.
In iTunes US, it is. I bought it there weeks ago, and it's still there, as an album track for $1.29. (For me, it just says "Play" instead of the price, since I bought it already, so maybe I shouldn't assume. But you can definitely pre-order the whole album and get the song "New" immediately, for which you will be charged.)

Amazon UK has the UK bonus tracks listed as Scared and Secret Life of a Party Girl Amazon US has the US bonus tracks listed as Turned Out and Get Me Out of Here
Perhaps the UK one should have a song entitled Secret Life of a Deluxe Version with clues as to what songs are on which deluxe versions in which countries!
And now... the UK version shows the same tracks as the US version! "This is fun! We should do this more often!"

Strange. I printed out the track listings from Amazon yesterday for both countries so as to keep an eye on how this might evolve. To be continued....

I'm still imagining what other Deluxe Exclusive versions may show up. Like, maybe... I think the album cover has the elegance of a store sign in a shopping mall. I like it! It's easy to parody. Podgie (parody is my middle name, no wait I take that back, it's "the") Monkey

"Mew" (I got the cat from the "McCartney" inner gatefold collage. I'm ashamed to admit that I hadn't noticed that the cover art from "Standing Stone" is from that same collage!)

So, on a different subject, I'm seriously thinking of going to see "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" this weekend so I can hear "New" with proper sound, instead of my crappy computer speakers. Is this insane? Anyone else thinking of doing it? Once before I went to a movie just to hear a Paul song: "Father's Day," which used "Young Boy for the opening sequence and "The World Tonight" over the end credits. I'd heard TWT but not "Young Boy." That opening sequence was pretty much the best thing in the movie, which achieved the amazing feat of making Robin Williams and Billy Crystal not funny.
Bruce, Not insane at all. I remember way back when Broad Street had its initial limited Theater run. I was in Detroit of all places on a Sales trip. I couldn't wait till I got home to see it locally. I had to see it as soon as it hit. I got a Detroit newspaper and found one theater showing it. This was the days before GPS. I remember having some trouble finding the location and it wasn't in the best neighborhood but I was determined. When I finally arrived there was me and like 2 other people in the theater. I guess you could say that I got lucky they actually showed it with that small of an audience. I also guess that Paul isn't too big in Detroit. I did enjoy the soundtrack which made up for the mediocrity of the actual movie. Did you ever live in Detroit? Maybe you were one of the other people.

"Hell" (got to give the other fella...)

If you can get a little cross eyed and get the image to sort of double up you can get it to look like 'Never'. Just realized this the other day

I've never lived in Detroit, sorry! And just to be clear, "Broad Street" did not have an "inititial limited theater run." It got a full-scale release, but it tanked at the box office (your experience was not unique) and disappeared quickly. That film was not Paul's best career move, though I've always liked the 3 original songs in the movie.

Strange. I printed out the track listings from Amazon yesterday for both countries so as to keep an eye on how this might evolve. To be continued....
And now... the Japanese edition shows the famous best-McCartney-song-ever "Struggle" as a bonus track, in addition to "Turned Out" and "Get Me Out Of Here." Those latter two are on every deluxe CD edition (except the Best Buy exclusive), and "Secret Life of a Party Girl" is only on the iTunes deluxe, I think! Come on, Target (nothing from them yet). Oh, and "Scared" is a hidden track on ALL releases, or so it seems.
-
Well,, there were 21 songs dedicated to this release. We may see more songs pop up. Now up to what....17

Hi, how do you know about 'Struggle' being on ALL releases? it says "bonus track only on the Japanese edition". So, where is 'Party Girl' on the physical editions?

No, "Struggle" is only on the Japanese edition (so far as we know); it's "Turned Out" and "Get Me Out Of Here" that are on almost all deluxe CD versions, and the hidden track "Scared" is the one that seems to be on all deluxe and standard versions. "Party Girl" is not on any physical version that I know of, and I can't even confirm that it's the iTunes bonus track for sure, but that's what I've heard. Personally, I'm not going to start pre-ordering anything at this point, while it's all up in the air.

Just did some more searching, and now I'm skeptical that "Party Girl" is available anywhere at all. The iTunes LP still has no song titles for anything but "New," just timings. The timings on the bonus tracks match the timings I've seen elsewhere for "Turned Out" (2:59) and "Get Me Out Of Here" (6:15). Adding all the times together matches the total album timing listed on this main website for the deluxe CD editions (and there is an iTunes link from there). So I guess iTunes has the same two bonus tracks as all the other deluxe editions (with Japan also adding "Struggle"). And iTunes can't have "Scared," because you can't "hide" a track in iTunes, as far as I know. Sorry for the confusion!
-
But 'Get Me Out of Here' is TOO long, 6 minutes, so I guess you're rirght, hideen bonus track linked with that- Scared'. Now let's wait for 'Party Girl', WE KNOW IT'S REAL because Amazon UK had it listed two days ago.
-
Remember the Early Days of New albums when we didn't deal with all of this? Wouldn't it have been nice if Paul would Save Us from all this trouble? Many would Appreciate that but then, again, perhaps not, as it does provide a way for Everybody Out There to talk on here and increase our anticipation. Still, at the end of it all, I am Scared that Secret Life of a Party Girl will only share her secrets in Japan. Oh well, it's time to hit the Road for now so Get Me Out of Here as maybe I should be On My Way to Work.

You may be right about that: 6 minutes is a little long for a single McCartney track these days (non-Fireman), so it's anyone's guess right now, even about where "Scared" is hidden. For those of us in the U.S., we can always see what happens with the UK deluxe on the 14th before we buy on the 15th!
