And the samples for the Deluxe Edition! http://www.allmusic.com/album/release/new-mr0004032001
Thanks for posting the site. Just listened to all 14 of them. A few random thoughts: Paul Epworth's production seems more interesting than the others'. I may end up wishing he had produced the entire album. I notice he gets co-writing credit on three of the songs. I thought Paul had like a gazillion songs written before going into the studio. What happened with that? And I read that he showed up, in some instances, with...nothing. The songs were written on the spot. Epworth's songs??? And I'm not sure about the Ethan Johns produced songs. Maybe they're too stripped down. Paul's voice sounds very croaky on the snippet of Early Days. Maybe the full song sounds better. And I recall reading that Johns said something about Paul arriving at the studio with this gorgeous song: Hosanna. Uh, based on the snippet, I'm not hearing the gorgeous song I thought I would. Again, maybe the full song will reveal more. The last song (bonus cut...14) sounds a bit countryish. Is this a fair assumption??? At any rate, I see that The Telegraph gave the album 5 stars and the reviewer seems to love it. I'm sure I will too, after I get past a few things I just mentioned.

I'm hearing that when you pre-order NEW from the record store FYE, you get a glowing cube with the NEW logo on it. I can't confirm this on FYE's website. Anyone know for sure? And when does Mojo magazine hit the shelves in the US, with the McCartney cover? When I went to the bookstore, it was still the old one.
There are still record stores???? Haven't seen a FYE in ages!!!!
-
I think there were some rumours of demos Paul had worked on in 2009/2010 with Geoff Emerick. About the time of I Want to Come Home. I don't know if any of these songs made it to the New album?? Knowing Paul will these eventually surface?

Currently the top selling album on Amazon.com! Keep the promotion going Paul!
Exciting!!

Early Days is such an amazing song, I'm in love with it!
-
Okay... I will write a full review this evening. Repeated listening is required. There is a lot to be absorbed, and that is a very good thing. For now, my one word review is Yes.

I want to be,...but the sample I've heard doesn't sound so good...the vocal is a bit croaky. Are you basing your feelings on the words...or just what is it about the song that you love? (I'm thinking it may be too stripped down by Ethan Johns.) Thoughts???? :

Can I come over?

Song samples are up!!! http://www.allmusic.com/album/release/new-mr0004031955
Thank you very much, must resist though! Have caught a snippet of Early Days (absolutely wonderful) but am trying to wait desperately for the 14th. It does seem unusually quiet around here considering we HAVE A NEW PAUL ALBUM NEXT WEEK!!!! I missed MAF and Electric Arguments launches as I joined in 2009 but the board seems especially quiet considering all the good reviews this album is garnering. Perhaps all Macca fans go in to a self imposed hibernation in advance..
I'm going to resist the samples, too. I've heard 4 songs and liked them all. That's plenty. I wanna be surprised!
One thing on the 4 songs you have heard, I'm assuming you mean two of them (Save Us and Everybody Out There) were the live versions. I loved those. On 'Everybody Out There' the backup singers (live) add little vocal bits ...oh oh oh oh...after the title is sung...Hey, Everybody Out There! Don't want to spill the beans, so to speak, but I sorta didn't hear those bits on the brief sample. Sorry I told you that!! And maybe I'm totally wrong. I found myself singing the ...'oh oh oh oh...parts!! They probably show up on the original. I didn't hear enough of it to know.

Bookstores, too! Who would have thought? I don't know, could have been a joke, as far as FYE having it, but the cube is definitely some kind of promotional item.

it didn't take much arm twisting
-
Both arms are still firmly in socket. And I will say that I caught myself grooving along with a couple of songs in particular... something also tells me that this album is going to sound great, and SOUND great at loud volume in the car.

It's out there! Deluxe edition and all.
In stores???
-
Oobu... you bring the wine. Or water. Something non carbonated. I don't want the sound of fizz distracting me from the songs lol

I agree about Hosanna. (from the snippet that I heard) So I guess they performed the right ones at the live performances.

I think it is very hard to make a judgement on a song just from a clip.
