Remembering JOHN...
-
"What kind of amplifier will you be needing, John?" "One that works!" John's spontaneity in the studio--he always tried to get his tunes in the first few takes, otherwise he'd get bored and want to move on to another song. Very much an early (i.e. pre-multitracking) R&B/Rock 'n' roll approach. As D.J. Fontana once said, it was from a time when "What you got was what you got."

R.I.P John

there is a lot to love about John.

All you need is LOVE Love you John! Wish my life had overlapped yours!

My radio alarm went off this morning and Lennon's "God" was playing. As I lay there in bed, I began to get teary-eyed... "The dream is over What can I say? The dream is over Yesterday I was the dream weaver But now I'm reborn I was the Walrus But now I'm John And so dear friends You just have to carry on The dream is over"

audi:
Of all four Beatles, John is the one I'd like to think I'm the most like. However, I admire Paul much, much more as the quintessential artist/musician. But John's personality is more me.
He wasn't a perfect human being, and he didn't pretend to be perfect, either. That just made him more human.

Remembering and Loving John Forever! Out The Blue:

RIP JOHN

[Nancy] Mairs broke a lot of those rules, felt constantly guilty, and then..."Learned to thrive in the care of" a God who "asks for the single act that will make transgression impossible: LOVE." The best reason to be good is to want to be good. Internal change requires relationship. It requires love. "Who can be good, if not made so by loving?" asked Augustine. When [he] made the famous statement, "If you but love God you may do as you incline," he was perfectly serious. A person who truly loves God will be inclined to please God, which is why Jesus and Paul summed up the entire law in the simple command, "Love God." --Philip Yancey, "What's so Amazing About Grace"

Funny how sometimes the pics show up & other times they don't. Maybe it has to do with available memory on your computer? Now they are all showing up.

Very beautiful sentiment. True, too. I was surprised Paul McCartney said that. (LOL) Yoko popped up in my facebook news yesterday talking about the last two days she spent with John. It was very sad. She said a "fog of death" enveloped them that Sunday, but "we never spoke of it." Suddenly that night John began "saying beautiful things to her" that made her cry. Although on a sugarless diet she went out and bought him chocolates, which he loved, and he was happy with her gesture. The next day was a full schedule with recording of Double Fantasy resuming at 6 p.m. after interviews, photo shoots, etc. She recalled that people weren't happy as they'd have preferred a John only comeback album, but he fought for her to be included. He wanted a "man woman dialogue" on the album, she said.
