Well now that we are all celebrating he 50th anniversay of The Beatles invading America, having tea, etc, etc, etc, here's my question. WHEN ARE WE GONNA SEE "LET IT BE" ON DVD OR BLURAY?

Hopefully, this is the year...we'll just have to wait and see.

Q-U-E-S-T-I-O-N!! You spell like Keith Richards, sober!

I'm betting it comes out in 2015. This year is all about the good memories. I don't see them bringing down the mood with "Let It Be" right now. Besides, 2015 will be the 45th anniversary of that movie, a nice round number!

I have corrected the thread title typo for you. If interested, in the future, you may edit a thread title that you have created by clicking on EDIT in the upper right hand corner of the first post in the thread. Once in edit mode, make desired adjustments in the subject line. When finished, click on submit at the bottom of the post. The thread title will then appear as revised.

Yep, outside of the roof top concert it was a pretty depressing film.

Yeah, but fascinating though.

If I look on Amazon, it seems there are only obvious copies availavle (from overseas) or some very expensive (~$100) discs from 3rd party sellers available in the US. Is this going to be re-released at all or is a Blu Ray edition being made available? Macca has done some incredible Deluxe Editions for some of his albums (especially RAM and Wings Over America--I mean someone did a REALLY nice job on these sets). Will they be doing the same for "Let It Be" ("A Hard Day's Night" seems to be in the same situation except a Blu Ray disc seems to have come and gone)? Has it been pulled due to legal issues again? Any ideas?

I have a ton of outtake footage and you get a really different impression of what the sessions were like especially at Apple Studio. It shows them generally having a good time, joking around, enjoying rehearsing and developing the songs. George although seems sometimes unenthusiastic. Paul & John seem to be the main contributors. Yoko is ever present of course. I hope whenever, if ever, they release it on DVD/Blu-ray they put in lots of out takes footage.

I bet the outtakes will stay in the hands of the "collectors".

They showed a lot of clips from Let It Be at The Grammy Salute to The Beatles between performers. They also showed some of it on the CBS broadcast. My guess is it will be out soon, next year if not this. It is the only Beatles album to have three number one singles on it, so those performances in the movie are historic and essential.

I would hope by 2015. Just to have all that footage legitimately available would be great.

My knee jerk reaction is to say 'never' (or not until all of the actual participants are gone and left in the hands of the offspring after the fact)....but then I remind myself we just go Rockshow recently, and thus, never say never. And at the very least, I've heard more chatter from Paul, Apple or whoever over the past few years regarding Let It Be than I ever heard regarding Rockshow...not sure that's a good measuring stick...but I know from a fan's point of view, Rockshow and Let It Be were view in that same 'will it ever get released' light

For the record they actually have both been released on VHS video and also on old laser disc format a long time ago, late 70's or 80's. The explanation for the non release of Let It Be on DVD is apparently not wanting to put out something showing them not getting along. This is quite puzzling as there is nothing new in the film to fans and probably the general public about what was happening in the group towards the end. In fact with the inclusion of a lot of the outtake footage as a bonus feature , I think it would give the impression that the sessions weren't all that gloomy and they were getting along pretty well (at least in front of the camera). Remember as George said in the anthology he invited Billy Preston to the Apple sessions so they would be on the best behaviour and not the bitchy lot they could be.
