July 9 at the Castro in San Francisco (one of the most wonderful old movie palaces on the planet). Anyone going?
I saw that on the list, Bruce M. I will be going to Monterey...too bad it's not at the same theater I saw it originally 50 years ago!
That would be interesting! I'll bet not many of the original movie houses where it was showing in '64 are still standing. None in San Diego are for sure. Maybe in Europe and U.K.?
The State theater in Monterey is still there, built in 1926, where I saw AHDN 50 years ago. Seems strange that the showing will be in a theater just a block away. I am really looking forward to seeing it on the large screen after all these years.

I'm going to try and see it in Berkeley on July 4th since the Castro theater is a bit of a hike on a weekend for us.

ME, ME, ME!!!! Calderstone Productions Limited (a division of Universal Music) and Apple Corps (under exclusive license to HDN, LLC) owns the masters recordings for the movie. Giles Martin cared for the master recordings from the production of his father, Sir George Martin. HDN, LLC (Hard Day's Night)

I'm pissed at the shear lack of availability at physical stores; i.e Best Buy.
-
Is it going to be shown at movie theaters worldwide or just in the US/UK?

Thanks for the warning. I guess it's Amazon for me! I forgot to order till now, so I'll have to wait, but I'll be happy to see it in its true aspect ratio.

Wow, wish I could be there!
-
Gotta put this on my list!

I live in a major city and it's only playing at one theater, nothing even in the surrounding suburbs The venue's site says AHDN is 'coming soon' and opening July 4th, but doesn't have any show times yet. I'd like to hopefully see it on July 4th or 5th before heading out to PA to see Paul on the 7th.
-
I'm seeing the film in the movies this week right after work. I cannot wait. I didn't want to rush home so I switched shifts for the next day so I don't have to wake up early. Maybe I'll consider taking a day off when I get my copy of the Blu-ray in the mail sometime after that!
-
I will be seeing AHDN at an indie theatre about 90 minutes from me on Friday.
-
It finally starts showing this weekend in DC, I will most likely be seeing it this Friday.
-
Going to the Hollywood in Portland Ore July 6TH
-
Got tix for me and my 7 yo on Saturday. A Beatles tribute band is playing first. I am not sure how I feel about that... I kind of just want to see the movie. But, my kid will get a kick out of it.

I welcome any Beatles release, but hasn't AHDN been done to death ? I've got the Miramax 2 disc edition sitting on my shelf... Surely Shea Stadium Blu-ray , Hollywood Bowl CD/new vinyl and Let It Be on Blu-ray are far more pressing matters ?!
You're preaching to the choir!
Except this is a 50-year thing that's being celebrated. Everything the Beatles did and achieved in '64 is new and/or improved again!!

Saw this in the theater today and it was WONDERFUL! Seeing this movie on the big screen was kind of magical. So many close ups of the boys and they looked great on the big screen. The sound was superb (nice work Giles!) I really love this movie. It is so joyous. I wish it was playing more than two days... I would totally see it again. Watching my dvd at home is not going to compare at all.

Yep, they are going to milk this anniversary for all it's worth! But of course a lot of what comes out will be very much worth it!!
