Hey, listen up. Amsterdam bar back in 1980. Rob hits the jukebox looking for Beatles. Not easy in 1980. Found Let It Be...ok yawn. So I kept spinning the flip: by the end of the night, I'd had heaps of free beers and the Dutch were left with an education. Wild Honey Pie? Well...you can blame Patti for that garbage.
I was once in a bar that was known for hard drinking and guys playing pool and a jukebox that always seemed to be playing Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Thin Lizzy and things like that. I looked at it and saw "Lady Madonna" on there, and I couldn't resist programming the flip side instead, but of course it took a while for it to actually play. That was magical hearing those tablas and sitars and flutes blaring through that place!

Do tell!!!! You mentioned in an earlier comment that you were going to rip the audio for some songs from the DVDs...please explain to me just how one does that? I'm just a wee bit technologically challenged in some things...this being one of them. Or maybe someone else wrote that...the ripping of the audio from the DVD's.

Someone already put together a cd of all the B sides. It's called 1B.

this is so exciting! I can't wait to get my copy. debating if I should ask for christmas or get my copy at best buy. how much does it cost?
It's probably discounted this week at Best Buy, but not sure of cost. At Amazon, the price when I placed my order was $59.98. On shipment date it was reduced to $48.88, which is what I was charged.
It's $49.99 at Best Buy right now.
Depending on your sales tax rate (ours is 6%) that would be $52.99 or more.
True, just thought I'd put it out there in case anyone wants to go to a physical store vs. online.
thank you for the price info!! It sounds amazing, got to get it!!

Mate, I have this image of you in a badass bar, with some Frank Booth lookalike drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon more than a little curious with your song selection... he doesn't like anything outside Blue Velvet.... Frank looking menacing as you negotiate the broken glass against your feet and cigarette smoke wafting into your eyes.... "What's this you put on the jukebox, Neighbour?.... the In-her-what?"

Close Toris, but no cigar. Rob drinks with NO man! Rob drinks alone...

Haha, fortunately it was so crowded in there that no one knew who even picked that song; must have been a half hour before it even played, since lots of other people were picking songs, too. I did kind of look around warily, though!

Absolutely adore the Jeff Lynne remixes but HATE the FAAB inner aspect ratio that makes it look like I'm watching a smaller widescreen tv within my screen. What is up with that aspect ratio?!
I'll answer my own question that it was presented as widescreen back in 1995 in standard definition. So the transfer to HD had to be done the way it is currently presented with the side bars.
I see it with black all the way around, not just on the sides. I assumed it had something to do with the resolution of the original, that if they made it fill the screen it would look too pixelated.
Yes that is correct; black bars all around because it was originally a widescreen film. I verified the video on the Anthology DVD as widescreen. But in order to keep it's original aspect ratio they had to add the side bars as well for the HD transfer.
I believe you indicated in an earlier post that...from the DVD...you were going to rip all of the audio of the live versions and videos that are unique from the CD. Could you please tell me just how you do that? I would like to do that as well...to have the audio on a CD...but am not sure just how that is done. Thanks.

Look for a DVD Audio converter...There are some free ones on the internet. I have one called Switch Sound File Converter. It will convert DVD Audio to mp3, WMA, or other format and you can then burn the song files to CD.

I ordered the DVD should be here today.

Are there any Easter Eggs?? too soon...

Much Thanks. I will do that.

Yeah I'm just not sure when I'll get around to buying the DVD set version. I have the Blu-Ray set but no optical computer drive that will read the Blu-Ray. I'd like to get borrow my cousin's copy so I can extract the dvd files and start splitting them up and converting to audio files.

OMG, I made a mistake and ordered the DVD instead of the Blu-ray of this! I even took the shrink wrap off before I figured it out! The freaking covers are identical! Called Amazon and they were nice enough to issue me a refund and let me return it. Ordered the proper one (of course now it's $2 more!) P.S. I wrote f r e a k ing, not you know what!

Got the DVD. Why no video for Please Please Me? Was that not a no. 1?
-
In the UK, it was only #2 on the chart that was considered official at the time, even though it was #1 on the three other popular charts. Kind of lame, but that's what they decided to do. In the US, it hit #3. I feel your pain, Nancy R!

The filmmaker and or cameraman DID NOT "check the gate!" There are threads inside the film for the digital remastered video of "Let It Be" in The Beatles 1+ on blu ray. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr AND "THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD" And one strand in "HELLO GOODBYE" the outtakes. COME ON GUYS!
