How Sioux Falls landed a Beatle: http://www.argusleader.com/story/news/2016/03/10/premier-center-paul-mccartney-one-on-one-tour/81603256/
Strange headline considering that Paul has not been a Beatle for 46 years.
Paul will always be a Beatle. Ringo too. Enjoy the show!
-
If you are so lucky to attend at Sioux Falls soudcheck please ask to Paul to play "Why don't we do it in the road" The only song that he will play without rehearsals
-
Really hoping he'll pull out Rocky Racoon tonight but not holding my breath. Doubt Paul will play the Dakotas again so this is it... Miracles do happen!

Counting down to McCartney's Sioux Falls concert with a daily article. Today it's looking back at some of his best performances . Does not include anything from new tour (spoiler free please!) http://www.argusleader.com/story/entertainment/music/2016/04/25/paul-mccartney-15-his-best-concert-performances/83486096/
__________________________________________________________ ... He mentions some others that were very good also. For once, here is a critic that is a pleasure to read. Thanks Maccafan82 for pointing Mr. Klinski out.
Allow me to take off the mask. Maccafan82 is Mr. Klinski, and I am not so much a music critic as a die-hard Paul fan. I work at the Sioux Falls newspaper and have been sharing my love of all things McCartney with our readers. There has been a week full of articles, which I will link to below. Best semi-obscure solo songs: http://www.argusleader.com/story/entertainment/2016/04/29/like-these-beatles-songs-try-these-mccartney-solo-tunes/83658580/ In defense of his solo career/best albums: http://www.argusleader.com/story/entertainment/2016/04/28/defense-paul-mccartneys-solo-career/83633222/ How Sioux Falls landed a Beatle: http://www.argusleader.com/story/news/2016/03/10/premier-center-paul-mccartney-one-on-one-tour/81603256/ Quiz: Test your McCartney knowledge: http://www.argusleader.com/story/entertainment/music/2016/04/26/quiz-how-well-do-you-know-paul-mccartney-and-beatles/83532304/ Thanks again for the kind words. It's very humbling.
______________________________________________________ Maccafan82 or Mr. klinski, THIS IS SO FUNNY AND PROBABLY SOMETHING THAT NEVER HAS HAPPENED ON THIS SITE BEFORE. OBVIOUSLY, I HAD NO IDEA YOU WERE THE AUTHOR OF THESE ARTICLES AND HERE I AM, RECOMMENDING THEM TO MY FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS. One thing for sure...you can tell I was really honest about your articles. And don't cut yourself short as a music journalist or critic. You're better than 90% of the ones I've read. Instead of trying to be cool or clever, you are giving your audience concrete information about a 'Beatle" (Paul McCartney) that many of them don't know....songs that they might want to check out beyond his famous Beatle songs and Wings hits. You are providing actual videos to these songs to boot. You can tell you really like his music but as I said, you are honest. You are not saying that everything Paul does is great and you point out some of his shortcomings to his Post Beatle career. At the same time, you know his prodigious output objectively makes up for some of his missteps. Just a couple of comments to your great articles: Addition to your "great performances' article *If you can find it, Paul did a version of "That Was Me" from Paris that was fantastic. At the same show he also played "House of Wax" which was also very good. Not sure why Paul stopped playing them on his tour but that is why they are so unique. Additions to your Article on Best Solo Songs by category (not known to masses) *for acoustic style...Early Days *hard rocking songs...Spin It On, What It is *Rocking with additive hooks ...Young Boy *Multi layered songs...Somedays, Dear Boy, Tug of War (the song) By the way, your example of a totally obscure and unreleased song (Squid) was a great one as I wasn't really aware of it. Other examples of unreleased songs that I love are...On the Wings of a Nightingale, Yvonne the one, and Waterspout. As far as your "In Defense of Macca's Solo Career" , I think you are spot on relative to your album choices. It's all subjective, but my choices would be slightly different. As far as his top tier list (or an A Grade), I would add Memory Almost Full and Venus and Mars with the other "top tier" choices you made. I always get frustrated with some of Paul's tracklist choices on many of his albums. For example, on "Memory Almost Full" why did he keep "Gratitude" on the album. Take that song out and replace it with, for example, "This Loving Game" and you might have had one of Paul's greatest albums. There are so many good to great tracks on Memory. Of course, you can probably come up with examples like these on most of his albums. There always seems to be one or two songs that are absolute clunkers when he has so many others (better ones) that he could have added. As you pointed out however, there are even classic Beatle albums that contain one or two clunkers. Anyway, thanks for the articles and keep them coming.
Loved your examples. If I could go back I would add Young Boy for sure, since that list could have used another one. As I said in the intro though, there are plenty of options for each category. But the post can only go on so long! I agree with you about Memory Almost Full. One or two songs away from being an all-time great. I also wish the sound was a bit better. It's on the loud side and is very distracting. You're unreleased songs are all great suggestions. Could do an entire post on the best Paul unreleased songs. And the best Paul B-sides. Luckily for us he has given us a lot of great material to go through. Thanks again for reading. For my latest post I talked to a few fans who are coming to the show and asked them for their favorites: http://www.argusleader.com/story/entertainment/2016/05/01/meet-four-excited-beatles-paul-mccartney-fans/83793094/
________________________________________________________ Maccafan82, Have a fantastic time and I hope you meet Paul during the limo watch or sound check. PS another great Solo song I forgot to add is "Take It Away". To show Paul's diversity just compare Ram to Tug of War. they are both fantastic albums but couldn't be anymore different. Thanks again for the fantastic articles and being an objective Paul McCartney historian.

Haha, the crowd reception at McCartney's wiggle during the solo of 'And I Love Her' is always great to hear.
