I have the original in vinyl, but just pre-ordered this CD. What can I say? I'm a completist! Hmmm...but I didn't buy Pure McCartney yet. I have to save some things for people to buy me as birthday and Christmas presents! ETA: I see there are some previously unreleased tracks, so definitely worth it!
I own the original 1977 Vinyl as well! You need to purchase the Pure McCartney Deluxe 4-CD set.
Like I said, I'm willing to wait for Christmas!
You've heard the saying, Christmas is also in June or July!

Finally it's being released on CD. I was hoping for a box-set of live recordings. I guess that was too much to ask for : I would have preferred the original cover. I'm not liking this cover
Hey, it's a reissue of the Hollywood Bowl album with a remix in 2016 technology and extra tracks! Heck yeah! Some of us have been waiting for this forever! I have to say it's a better cover than that manila one with the tiny picture on the original '77 release. IMO.
I don't want to raise anybody's hopes but if the 2016 remix technology improves the Hollywood Bowl's sound quality, maybe Shea 65 is not too far behind. Shea 65 is only the single greatest event in Rock n' Roll history, Capitol/EMI would be crazy NOT to release it later.

If you can demix things and isolate sounds that were mixed in with other sounds like they have done here could they not do the same with the star club tapes? Or the recording of a cavern club concert that Paul owns after buying it at auction in the 80s it's never been heard.

Good point darrel! I would love to hear the remix of the Star Club and Cavern Club tapes! These tapes contain historic concerts that are far too valuable and important to NOT be released and heard!

There's always the underground, there is PERFECT sound quality in the underground by Dr. Ebbetts!

Rats!! Then, I agree that is not a good cover. It's very generic and ho-hum. They need one to "capture" the excitement of the event. I would opt for one of them onstage rather than that one....which doesn't work for the documentary for the same reasons. ops: ops:

I'd also like to see a bit more thought on the cover (if this is the final version).

The single Twist and Shout from the remastered album is now available on Spotify. I was a bit surprised about how bad the sound quality is, but I have only listened to the original album a few times.

Wow, AHDN sounds great. Guess I'm going to have to buy this. I still treasure my old vinyl copy of Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl, but I think I need this new version.

Bad sound quality (Twist & Shout).....and now quite slow (A Hard Day's Night). Me thinks you are being a bit too critical. Sound quality is super. The live version of "....Night" is the same tempo as the recorded version; not any slower at all.

I'm not being critical, there are moments in AHDN where the vocals are a bit delayed, I think that's what I meant. The vocals come in later on the beat than in the original, which is probably beacuse the guys have difficulties hearing the music. I think it sounds interesting, that's all, I really like this version. When I compare T & S with AHDN, to me, the second song has a superior sound quality, I feel that the audience screams interfere with T & W more. Just an observation..

Sorry, didn't mean to sound harsh or overly critical. I know what you mean about the overall sound, etc. Since T & S was the kickoff song...the crowd noise was more intense. Since they had no foldback speakers and could not hear themselves, they had to sort of guess/hope that they were in the same place in the songs at the same time. They had to be superior musicians to even attempt that. Today's stars have dozens of roadies, auto tune and prerecorded bits to insert here and there, 48 tracks to work with. What the Beatles did with "primitive" equipment and sound systems was phenomenal....they had to just rely on their God given talent. And that was more than enough. I'm pleased that Giles Martin has taken over the reigns at Apple to oversee their work and make it all sound as good as possible, making great use of what technology he can...on those 3 -track recordings. To be able to separate the vocals somewhat from the screams and bring then up a bit in the mix is quite remarkable.
