I hear you mate ð??ð?»

Ringo singing "Boys" is now available on the Rolling Stone site. Sounds great. Wish Giles had found a way to insert the 4 extra cuts into the proper album instead of having them as tack ons.......We know they did "Long Tall Sally" as the final song, but still......

Hello my fellow Beatles fanatics! How's everyone doing? I hope all is well with all of you. I just received an e-mail from Amazon that my Hollywood Bowl CD has shipped and will be receiving it tomorrow (Friday, 9 September 2016). I can't wait to receive it and compare the sound quality to all of the other many Hollywood Bowl CD's that I own. Doing this, I will know which sound quality is the best of the best. I will let all of you know what results I come up with. Take care.

I got the same email!

That's great Nancy! You'll have to post your opinion of the sound quality of the Hollywood Bowl performance. I'll be doing the same.

Listening to the album right now on Spotify, I'm really enjoying She's A Woman! Great sound and great version..
-
Dizzy Miss Lizzy is also excellent! Great vocals on those two songs..
-
the album is far more interesting than I ever thought, great to hear a Beatles concert so clearly..

Hi Beatles fanatics! I received my LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL CD and I must say, I LOVE THE SOUND QUALITY! You're all going to love it! The EIGHT DAYS A WEEK Documentary will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray in November 2016.

First of all - it sounds incredible! This for me Is the holy grail. I've waited around 30 years for this. Always thought it sounded good anyway - remarkably fresh sounding Now however the sound quality is off the scale. The big thing for me is how good the drums and lead vocals sound now! Couple of downsides though. I get the need to maintain the integrity of the original album, and support the way they've packaged the bonus tracks but, why on earth Have Baby's in black as the last tune?! Total anticlimax. Also, I have a bootleg that has all the tracks from both games - why no I Feel Fine.

My CD arrived in the afternoon, so listened to it in (again) in the car "on my way to work" and home. Sounds fantastic!

Yep, we're just finally "hearing" them live in concert for the very first time......and they were without a doubt the greatest live rock band ever. Ringo should really get his long overdue praise....finally. His drumming is superb and absolutely drives the band.....faster and faster. Paul's bass work is terrific...he and Ringo were totally in sync...and John's rhythm guitar is forceful and he too drives the band. It's nice to hear clearly his guitar and George's guitar separately, something we couldn't always do, even in the studio recordings. George's playing is fantastic, he was in top form...as is his singing and harmonies. They all play and sing terrific; that they could so so under those conditions...no monitors to truly hear themselves sing and play is just amazing., (I do agree with the person who commented about having "Baby's In Black" as the final song is a bit anticlimactic. It should have been "I Want To Hold You Hand." I wish they had found a way to insert the four "bonus"songs into the lineup before the actual closing number, but I guess that seemingly wasn't possible.)

"no monitors to hear themselves singing and playing" and yet they performed just fantastic, seems miraculous--much of the Beatles story seems redolent of miracles, large and small, but it's no miracle perhaps that they truly were the most talented creatures (Beetle Bugs!) ever heard in a band, they did that all themselves--"the greatest music story ever told" theirs has been called, words that make me want to weep--that phrase really gets to me

Got my copy today! I put it on and cranked my Bose system, right out the gate I noticed the Boom of McCartney's bass! I have so many thoughts about what I'm hearing that I almost don't know where to start! First off, Giles Martin deserves high fives from everyone! The sound improvement cannot be denied, the vocals on this album come thru loud and clear! In fact the entire band comes thru! This album absolutely ROCKS! She's A Woman is absolutely bad to the bone! The Beatles are tight, hot and laying it down! It is absolutely amazing that they were this tight and played this good under the conditions they were in. Anyone who says the Beatles weren't a good live band is just wrong! Dizzy Miss Lizzy is Heavy Metal in 1964! When Lennon screams the Beatles are taking no prisoners, this is absolute hard rock, in fact this is one of the hardest rocking performances I've ever heard of the Beatles! What Giles Martin has done allows you to really hear the band, and man what a hard rocking band the Beatles really were! One of the things I always hold against all of the Beatle tribute bands is they don't really rock as hard as the real Beatles. The sound is just so much improved, listen to Harrison's guitar solo in Roll Over Beethoven, now you can hear it so clear! Ringo's drumming can be heard much better. McCartney's vocals shine in Can't Buy Me Love ! As I said, I love the boom of McCartney's bass behind it all! I've always thought that you should be able to hear McCartney's bass, Giles Martin deserves credit. I could go on and on about the songs, but I'll just say they were right, this does bring the thrill of a Beatles concert! The improved sound let's you really hear how powerful and absolutely hard rocking the Beatles really were live! To me, this is a must have album, what they've done should change how anyone looks at this album now! This album isn't the stepchild anymore, these are absolutely hot hard rocking performances that sound better than they ever have! I like the four additional songs as well, I really love Lennon's vocals on You Can't Do That! I am actually excited, this sounds way way better than I was expecting! I still don't like the cover, but this has easily become one of my very fave Beatle albums! To my ears, this is a proper and very very good live album!

Totally agree. I guess we should all have known all along just how great a live band they were (they would not have become so huge a band in the first place were that not the case), but it's ultra nice to have it so powerfully and beautifully confirmed. I don't want to hear anyone ever say again that they were not such a good live band. (Yes, you, Kieth Richards.) The proof, as they say, IS IN THE PUDDING. I absolutely love when, on some songs, they start playing even louder and faster, knowing that's exactly what the crowd wants. One can feel it on such songs as Paul's "Things We Said Today". Ringo is a terrific drummer. I don't want to ever hear anyone say again that he was the weak link in the band; just lucky. He drove the band with power. This is everything I have so wanted to hear forever. It's so nice to be able to now. ( And, yes, "Dizzy Miss Lizzy", is one hard rocking song. They absolutely kill it. John Lennon, in fact, seems to own Hollywood Bowl. His confidence comes through loud and clear.

I wouldn't say Lennon owns Hollywood Bowl, because McCartney on She's A Woman , Can't Buy Me Love and Long Tall Sally is absolutely doing some hard rock shouting! The whole album is way better than anyone could have expected! I'm still listening and I'm still thrilled!

Got the CD and been listening to it since last evening. Enjoying the little things I could never hear before, such as the echo of their vocals in the Bowl itself. It does sound fantastic! This album is proof why they were The Fab Four! And reading all the comments here, makes me want to go listen to it again...
