Paul is the only one who can stop this ticket rip-off
-
Once again we find that tickets for the shows sell out in seconds (often before the published launch time) pre-sale on various websites (here and Amex) are nowhere to be seen, and suddenly they turn up at inflated prices on external sites.
Surely a company such as MPC can put together the muscle to make sure that the fans are not overlooked (perhaps they could have emailed fans who were near venues (100 miles or so and offered them first shout),. Perhaps it could have been organised through this site and not ticketmaster. Somebody with a brain far bigger than mine should have the answer.
I'm lucky that I got a ticket (also saw him in London last time) but what a struggle for the real fans.
-
That's what happens when he plays so few UK shows.
If he played more regularly in the UK there'd probably be less of a scramble for tickets but it is what it is.
As for emailing fans within a radius of 100 miles of a venue, that's an awful lot of work for someone with little real payback, to ensure your hitting a specific audience demographic.
-
I'll let the 'verified fan' presale go, even though I have Macca purchase history on my ticketmaster account, as we all went to our first Paul concert once. Just don't call it 'verified fan', because it's really just a random ballot for codes, and a percentage are therefore still going to be touts.
Paul's concerts always sell out quickly, but I've never seen it as quick as today! I had already logged into my ticketmaster account, had all the payment stuff pre-loaded, but even so, clicking in the second it went live, it was already 'no tickets available'!!!
'Bots' must have got a sizeable chunk of the tickets. Presumably these will be drip fed onto the reseller sites over the next few months?
I was lucky and got one a short while later with a little persistence - presumably a single ticket that someone didn't buy in time before they were timed out, or a payment which failed
Others have said it on other threads but a proper presale would be for people registered on here (not just in the last week) or maybe people who have bought something in the store here.
Sadly, having an O2 mobile phone, your gas and electric from SSE, or an American Express card counts for more. Or paying 4x the price they should be to get the very best rows.
Sorry, I'm ranting a bit, and I'm one of the lucky ones, so I will stop, but I'd love it if something could be done!

Well due to health issues I tried to get an accessibility ticket which basically means when you can walk you get an aisle ticket, what a mistake . I was anxious not to spoil anyones enjoyment as in his overlong shows i will leave twice or thrice times to get relief from back pain. I know it sounds daft but 3 years ago the sound package was a big deal of money to me and physically too much i had to leave just after halfway through. Luckily the next night ihad a ticket only 8 rows further back and only 3 seats in from an aisle. That one i was able to enjoy not having spent the aftenoon at the venue and it was a great show and many friends were there so it having to be my last show so be it. Particularly loved the wiggling fro ma young friend in front of me after not seeing her for 6 years. Did feel annoyed that all the packages were sold during the first pre sale not that i would attend the sound check again. The concert has turned out to be only part of my wonderful experiences with fellow nutjobs over the years.
I was very disappointed to find out at 4 pm that somehow Ticketmaster had "OFFICIAL" tickets and selling them at 4 times the face value. Now no doubt someone in the management team has an MBA and thought this was a good idea, I doubt if buggerlugs knows the in and outs of the selling arrangements but that someone is a complete moron. When in the UK recently there was mainstream tv news broadcasts about Ed Sheenan stand agaisnt touts. Advisors should be able to see pitfalls I would have told him do want this headline. Luckily i have seen 9 times since 1979 and met him twice so have been rather lucky in the past. But just sack the moron.

Honestly i doubt wether Paul is even aware of the nonsense of today,Ticketmaster are the ticket selling force in the world, they offer schemes such as Verfied fan and his people go along with it,as its seen to be doing something against the touts, when in realilty all its done is make it harder for fans such as post here for instance (not that that should guarantee a ticket alone of course),and given people who maybe have seen artists such as Paul a better than even chance than perhaps is fair, throw in a few buzzwords and its middle management mana from heaven.
No easy answer but it has been terrible for many people today sad to say.

He’d be better playing Hampden Park , Wembley ,Anfield etc in the summer . Problem largely solved .

You wrote MPS and then MPC! Do you mean MPL?

This is all easily traceable back to the greed some of us were attempting to discuss in another thread. Paul simply doesn't care. He walks out with his cool million and a guarantee of a packed house no matter what...and he isn't the only one. It will never change. These big rock legends have about another decade MAX of this level of activity and popularity so they're going to soak it up for the rest of their lives.

Too bad these rock legends don't do what JK Rowlings has done to try and prevent scalpers from getting tickets to Harry Potter show in London. My family will be going to London and see it in December and you don't even get a ticket. You go to the box office the day/evening of the show to get ticket and need to show proof of purchase and photo id of the person who bought the tickets. I will also mention this show is reasonably priced especially when you compare it to seeing "Hamilton" in NYC.

Another excellent option! They simply don't care.

By “they” are you referring to Paul, Paul’s people, Ticketmaster or all of the above?

All of them,
paul has his money and will play,Paul’s people have their slice and are happy and ticketmaster roll on allowing it to carry on.
Dont think Paul is that bothered at this point,as most artists are it’s down to money and they have their price of the pie and can retire to the beach till gig

Block 111 (which is a side block) selling at an astronomical £471 plus fees this morning on Ticketmaster if anyone is interested

I don't buy from touts.

Hi Peter, it's been an appalling way of doing the sales this time i agree. I really hope you manage to get something normal price and near the aisle for you
Wont be the same at a Paul show without seeing you!! Been a terrible year, my mother in law died in April, and our 21 month old son has leg problems amongst others and had to have a brain MRI in May to rule out a birth injury - only found out recently that result was normal which is great!!!! But everything is still hard, and the London show is my birthday so my sister forked out for the package as a pick me up. If we knew we could've got normal tickets we would have done with that, as the debt is terrible.. as it is for most people
Sorry for waffling on! Hope you are doing ok considering - take care.

You are right, they are getting their money and that is all that matters. They know there is a market out there that will let them charge anything they want and will sell out. Does anybody really think the McCartney team cares about the fans on this board getting to see him in concert? I truly understand an artist wanting to make money but in his case he is a billonaire and can afford to make the prices more reasonable and still make a nice profit. In addition, think of the money he makes in merchandising when you are selling a t-shirt for $35-$50. Also, it seems to me he makes a bit of money (lol) on his sound check package and people are not even very close to the stage.
Once again, I will give major credit to JK Rowlings. She took real control of her show and has a system where real fans are going and at affordable price for theater. I believe she knows with the prices she charges she will still make quite a bit of money and that is not even including the amount of merchandise that is sold for the shows. She has proven it can be done, I wish others would follow her lead.

There was no ripoff. People need to cool out, and learn how to use a computer properly, and read instructions properly. I got through no problem for Canada, and Liverpool.

The man is pushing 80 years old. I highly doubt he stays up at night worrying about how tickets are sold. He has a fee, and promoters charge a price they need to, to cover his fee and make money. Paul gets his $$$ regardless of 1 ticket being sold, or all tickets sold.
This ridiculous whining is so over the top and ridiculous by the "adults" here. Tickets were readily available for all to purchase, so as long as you can use a computer properly, and read basic instructions. Embarrassing to compare ticket sales to his show to Harry Potter LOL.
