I appreciate that some of our OAP's are a bit hard up but really, this is ridiculous. Perhaps Macca has heard that the BBC are thinking of doing away with the free tv licence for the over 75's?
Took me a minute to decipher your post! OAP = Old Age Penshioners? We call them Senior Citizens. And everyone, regardless of age, has to pay for whatever form of TV they want (cable, satellite dish, etc.) You have to have a license for it?! Like a fishing/hunting/driver’s license?
Yes thats right. Basically if you have a television that you watch any live or broadcast programme on then you need a television licence. This is how the BBC is funded in the UK. Even if you don't have a television, but you watch for example the BBC i-Player on a mobile phone, then you still need a tv licence. The over 75's are exempt although there is talk of doing away with this, which has clearly got Paul worried.

Do you pay it once a year? If so, the amount shown is quite low. We have to pay all kinds of added taxes and fees every month, like I have to pay something extra for ESPN on DirecTV even though I never watch sports.

That's the same link they sent in an e-mail at 9 am today for those that signed up yesterday, so it's the right one. Yeah, I'm a sucker; I pre-ordered it.

I caved. I'm a weak man. I told myself all day that I had to draw the line with this; that there just isn't anywhere near enough value to me to justify spending this much, even though I know it is likely the only way to get these additional tracks.
Surprisingly, when I told my wife about my newfound willpower when I got home from work, she told me I should just buy it, that I know that someday I will end up looking on ebay for it and have to spend double what it is now. That was all the encouragement I needed.

yeah saw it at $360
it will be beautiful
wont know what to do with it
wont mind if Samsonite did a "Egypt Station " luggage range

I always do. Its not bad value really, it works out just a few £'s a week. But if you want to watch the latest films or big sporting events then you'd have to subscribe to Sky or something like that and then you're paying a lot more on top of your bog standrad tv licence.

Although, I'm not interested at all in a puzzle or a pack of cards, I do hope the extra tracks in this set do see some other form of release or somehow make it to legit streaming sites. I enjoyed the bonus tracks to my only copy of this record on the Target CD version....and for the foreseeable future this is the only copy of this album I'll need, (unless they release a 2 CD version in the future).

If, as I suspect, "Egypt Station" will be Paul's final proper studio album, it might be worth the cost. I'm inclinded, however, to just try and get the additional songs. I don't need or really want all of the other stuff. I have enough Beatles' and Paul memorabilia to fill two rooms. The producer of the album...on its release.... said several more songs had been recoreded. We have three of them now. I suspect that's what this release will consist of...the remaining ones and then we will have all that were recorded.

I love Paul very much, however I feel I really don't need all that. I am perfectly happy with Egypt Station on CD. I cannot afford the boxed set. I think Paul will do maybe one or two more studio albums I cannot see him stopping completely on making new albums. I encourage Paul to keep on making new albums if he wants to and still can. He wants to use all his talent as much as he can and I would tell him to go for it! Music is powerful nd healing of one loves music.

Agree with you completely, Becky! If I had the money to spend, I probably would buy this, but since I can't right now, just enjoy what I'm able to have. His music and the good it brings to so many people is what's important.

Of course Paul Mc. will make more new albums ! That's what he does, using his God given talents. But does this new offering with the cute little suitcase only have two new songs from the ES sessions? And they're not on cd but only on vinyl in this? A lot of people don't have turntables anymore.
I'd have preferred the twelve or so songs left over from the ES sessions be put out in a new album, a sequel of sorts to ES or something entirely new. I'm disappointed.
I love Paul's original artwork on this project. The colors he uses and just all of it. Since they're so into being commercial sometimes, why not put it out there for sale on sheets, pillowcases, blankets, dishes and goblets, poster reproductions, all manner of things. Ceramics. He can add "designer" to his impressive resume.

At this stage of my life I'm trying to purge personal belongings. Unloaded most of my 1500 vinyl collection & bulky home stereo system. Having said that I did purchase the last two archive releases but I think I'll pass on this one. Looking forward to a "London Town" release; lets hope this year.

When you say “unloaded” I hope you got some $$$ for all that vinyl, etc.

Wanna help me with a box of tracks that I just found?
(staying off topic)

It seems thet’re Shifting the remaining sets around. They were sold out in Europe, now - that the US sold out - they’re suddenly available again for pre- order.
-
I'm going to be really annoyed if we can't get those two new tracks digitally at some point. Releasing bonus tracks exclusively on vinyl in 2019 is just cruel.
-
A debt of gratitude is in order for sharing this, Oobu! Love the whole desserts all through the case, there unmistakably may be concealed tracks/additional melodies not prior discharged. Or more all simply like the participating in playing cards and jigsaw baffle, lol

The description of the "surprise" bonus audio/video contents is rather vague. The webstores just say the package will include hidden performances and videos, without giving details or saying whether they will be on physical media or not. Perhaps it's on purpose?
Meaning that if it's not selling as well as expected, they can update the description with more detailed info. If there's a bonus CD/DVD/BD full of interesting stuff, nobody will ever know whether it was going to be included from the beginning or not. And then it will probably sell out.

If anyone is still interested in getting a copy of this, uDiscover have just sent out an email (in the UK) saying that a limited number are still available:
