Is Paul still on holiday in St Barts? If so,I don't blame him for staying on the beach rather than get involved with another pointless awards show.
I think so. I'm right now sailing in his direction!! First stop is St. Martaan, then Tortola, BVI on Apr. 1st. It is only 22 miles from St. Bart's!

If he's read your message Nancy I expect he's busy packing his suitcases right now. Hope you have a lovely holiday.

Funny how Ricky Gervais "slayed" all the Hollywood types at last Golden Globe awards he hosted and not one person got up and hit him -lol.
I have to admit I loved all the Gervais comments on the Golden Globes where a handful of people decide those things and the Hollywood types turn out in droves as if it's all actually important. I guess I have to admit to making a joke about Jada myself a few years ago when she announced she wasn't attending whichever Academay Awards show to protest....I think...the whole #OscarsSoWhite...situation which seemingly offended so many people. I thought and said to more than one person...."Will anyone care about what this woman might do? It's not as if people know who she is....or care ..or will even take notice of her intentions...or wonder why it's even being mentioned. It's doubtful she was even invited. It's not as if she is Meryl Streep or someone important." So.....I was guilty. I believe Chris Rock mentioning at some point that he made the same sort of observation about her then. So he has been a bit on her case more than once. Is it possible he didn't know about her Alopecia condition and just thought she decided to shave all the hair off her head simply for the look and therefore the G.I. Jane 2 comment would have made it more of a joke? That might have made it less tasteless....to him. What I am about to say is going to come across as racist sounding for sure....but....if Chris Rock were White he would have been villified by everyone in attendance and by the media for making such a comment meant to be funny and Will Smith would have been the hero. But...it's the other way around. Chris Rock is the victim.
-
And now Will has apologised to Chris Rock. Now... after he's heard what may happen to him.
I don't think Chris Rock knew of the illness.
-
I hope Paul does attend but not hearing anything about him in any of the articles makes me wonder.
-
See prediction below from "Pitchfork.Com", thought it was cool they that Paul should win. Sadly, they did not think he would win.
Best Rock Song
- Weezer - “All My Favorite Songs”
- Kings of Leon - “The Bandit”
- Mammoth WVH - “Distance”
- Paul McCartney - “Find My Way”
- Foo Fighters - “Waiting on a War”
Will win: Foo Fighters - “Waiting on a War”
Should win: Paul McCartney - “Find My Way”The nominations for Best Rock Song suggest that “rock” is once again a legacy genre in the eyes of the Grammys. So ideally the winner should be the legacy-est rock artist on the list, Sir Paul McCartney, whose “Find My Way,” from 2020’s McCartney III, also happens to be the liveliest, most whimsical track here. The category’s recent winners have been surprisingly modern—St. Vincent in 2019, and Brittany Howard besting Fiona Apple, Phoebe Bridgers, Big Thief, and Tame Impala for the 2021 trophy—but it’s hard to have much hope for whimsy carrying the day, even when served up by a Beatle. With 12 awards to their name and a nomination lock across the Rock categories, Foo Fighters might be the more natural choice, and one with added significance given the recent passing of beloved drummer Taylor Hawkins. –Marc Hogan

Hey Yankeefan...
I don't know if this was an April 1st "Fools Day" joke but I just read that "Blue Man Group" is replacing Trevor Noah as 2022 Grammy Awards Host. The writer of this article is James Sissler. It's the only article I've seen that mentions this "last minute" replacement news. The fact that the date given in the article is April 1st makes me suspicious that it is a prank. Has anyone else seen anything. Blue Man Group is somewhat of an institution in Vegas.
-
Like Yankeefan...I haven't seen anything from the Grammy Academy (or from anywhere else for that matter) that Paul McCartney might perform, present or attend tonight's Grammy Show. I did see that Joni Mitchell is a surprise "presenter" for tonight's ceremony. I think I read that Joni is receiving the special "2022 Music Cares" Award so her rare appearance at tonight's show is not that much of a surprise.
In general, it makes me wonder if a big "Awards Institution" like the Grammys would ever let a famous artist like Paul know "confidentially" and "in advance" that he is going to win one of the Awards for the night. I'm just thinking that it may be their way of enticing a famous musician to actually attend. And as I'm thinking more about that possibility, does it kind of indicate in any way that Paul will be shut out again. Obviously I hope I'm wrong.

BJ, it is April Fool's joke.

I just read NY Post entertainment article and they are picking Paul to win best Rock album. Like you said in another post, the vote was already in before the death of Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters. This leads me to believe he has better chance than I thought but uless he is announced the winnner not getting my hopes up. I could not imagine Paul not at least attending the awards and I guess when you are not performing/presenting there will be no news about him. I would really hate for him to finally win and not be there. A win for "McCartney III" would be extra specia IMO because Paul did everything on the album and all the credit would be for him.

I'm with you 100% Yankeefan. I'm sure hoping.he wins at least one of the Awards.
While the show is on CBS starting at 8:00pm Eastern Time, I think I read that you can go online starting (I think LiveGrammy.com) in the afternoon to get more information of Winners etc. Wonder if we'll find out if Paul wins any Award before the actual Telecase begins. I want to watch the Women's Final (NCAA Women's) tonight ...Connecticut vs. South Carolina so I may not see the whole Grammy's show.

That's as good a reason as any for the album to win. Hopefully it would also encourage Paul to ditch his band for any future studio work and instead start work alone on McCartney IV

"I want to watch the Women's Final (NCAA Women's) tonight ...Connecticut vs. South Carolina so I may not see the whole Grammy's show."
Having played basketball in HS and college, I enjoy watching the women playing because IMO they are more fundamentally sound than the men. South Carolina won the previous meeting this year and I think they will prevail again. This is not one of the Connecticut teams of the past that dominated everyone, heck they were a #2 seed -lol.
-
Yes Yankeefan...I'm definitely watching the Women's game tonight. The center on South Carolina (her last name is Boston) is tremendous so I think you're right. South Carolina should win but that young phemom Paige Bueckers is very good too.
I'm a huge Vilanova fan on the Men's Side so I was disappointed that Kansas beat them last night. Still, Villanova went further than I thought they would (As you know, March Madness started with 68 teams) so for Villanova making it to the Final Four) made me proud that they put up such a good fight. Growing up in the Philadelphia area I was always a Villanova fan even as a teenager but my Daughter ended up choosing Villanova as her college, so they are easily my favorite team. For a small scholl they won the NCAA's Finals twice over the last 10 years...once in 2016 and then again in 2018. Jay Wright, their Coach, is one heck of a Coach.

I just got a lot of Grammy Winners so far. I just googled 2022 Grammy Winners So Far and it put me into LATimes.com
They have announced a whole bunch of Winners at this time. As far as this Site... the only Beatle Grammy Winner Announced so far is :
For Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package
WINNER: All Things Must Pass - 50th Anniversary Edition -Darren Evans, Dhani Harrison and Olivia Harrison
*For those interested, they listed a bunch of the specialized awards (country, jazz, gospel etc) but so far they have not announced the 4 big General Awards nor they have announced the Rock Awards in which Paul McCartney is nominated. We may have to wait for the televised show starting at 8:00pm Eastern Standard Time. Maybe the fact that George Harrison has won brings good karma for a possible Paul Win later tonight.

Sorry I hope this is wrong but on another Grammy Site it said that the Foo Fighters have swept the Rock Category Awards. Maybe the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins was a big factor afterall. I hope this is an incorrect report but it was a headline so it appears that our guy Macca has been "shut out" once again. Foo Fighters won all the Rock Awards including Rock Song and Rock Album. I like Dave Grohl a lot but I wished Paul would have won one of the Awards.

hey Oh Darling...there are a lot of Pre-Award "On-Line" Grammy things going on over the last couple of hours and that was one of the last Grammy Announcements I read. Hope I'm wrong but I don't think it is another April Fools joke. It seemed very official.

It's for the awards they don't want to televise. Can't imagine that rock album of year is among them.
