You two are some serious pervs (I like that!) and hijacking my thread with vids like that : Guys like Johhny and me would at least ask that you try and balance the thread with similar Patti, Barbara, Linda, Heather, and/or Nancy Why do I get the funny feeling that post removals are forthcoming??

Oh come on now...it's not at all like that. If you hadn't brought any attention to it...

Please tell me erection is not a "film" about what it sounds like what it's about
No not this one. There was a "film" called Self Portrait, which showed John's err...his er.....ah...you know, in various states of "relaxation" through to "excitement" and all in the spendour of slo-mo. Yoko famously deadpanned, "The critics wouldn't touch it."
-
Hi Robert -- Self-proclaimed dyed in the wool "pervs" like Nancy and oobu (what the heck is her name anyway??) may disagree but that sounds even more revolting than "Fly" and I almost lost my lunch after that one....even though I watched it hours after dinner

Excuse me? Pervs? I barely watched any of those films & yet you state you watched it for hours?
-
No offense intended "oobu" My comment was supposed to be a good natured ribbing meant in jest--I retract the statement regarding "self-proclaimed dyed-in-the-wool pervs"....see the little laughing yellow heads? LOL I didn't watch it for hours, I watched it hours after dinner ...although it was quite a long video (it felt like hours )--I guess I was waiting for the climax (no pun intended ) but it just sort of faded away not really going anywhere. I'm still trying to figure out how they got those flies to stay there.

I for one could do without seeing either John or Yoko naked! Ever see the cinematic treat "Fly"?? Now there's a sight for sore eyes!!
I have all their art films on DVD. Ever see the one with all the naked butts walking? :
What about the one called Self Portrait? I will admit to being a little curious about that one....

they didn't. You should see May Pang's account of filming that movie in her book. It's funny.

"I Dig Rock and Roll Music" by Peter, Paul and Mary. "And when the Beatles tell you, they've got a word love to sell you. They mean exactly what they say" Did I miss the post?
-
For a more contemporary reference, the great band The National in their beautiful song Dont Swallow the Cap reference the Let it Be album. [Chorus] I'm not alone I'll never be Into the bone I'll never grieve And if you want (dead seriously) To see me cry (don't swallow the cap) Play "Let It Be" (pat yourself on the back) Or "Nevermind" (dead seriously)

Summer Rain by Johnny Rivers "All summer long we spent dancin' in the sand And the jukebox kept on playing Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
Yeah, I used to think...."What jukebox?" That song is not on any jukebox 'cause it ain't a single! But ..liked the reference.
-
Not sure if it's been used before, but in the song "The Seeker" by The Who they reference The Beatles. As well as "Bobby Dylan" "I asked bobby dylan I asked the beatles I asked timothy leary But he couldn't help me either"
-
London Calling by the Clash "Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust" Funny thing is I saw a documentary about them say in 2002 or 2003 on DVD. They seemed to be Beatles fans and I think a lot of punk artists might have been but couldn't mention it. You know, being an "uncool" thing to do in 1977.

I believe it's safe to say the Beatles were EASILY the most influential band of all time....although, as you mention, it may not have seemed cool for some bands to mention it at one time or another. I would not have guessed in 1991 that Nirvana was so influenced by the Beatles, but if Dave Grohl said they were...and said how much he and Cobain loved the group, I have to believe him; how they learned song writing, song structure, melody, etc., from listening to the Beatles.
