Greensboro, NC, Greensboro Coliseum, Oct. 30, 2014 - ARCHIVE

Been a Paul fan my whole life (like many of you). I have seen him over 25 times and will see him once again in Greensboro on the 30th. This time I went for the VIP package, including the soundcheck. With me will be my wife & son (he's only 17, but this will be his 5th show!) Cannot wait. See you all there!!

Thanks, vicks Yes indeed, Thursday, Oct. 30 I might find myself barreling down the highway like a bat out of hell to Greensboro, bright and early, camp out at box office sitting on two pillows so my hiney won't hurt (LOL) and be first when the box office opens...it's funny, had a dream a few months ago that I was Paul Mc.'s girlfriend (which I sure loved!), then screamed in misery when I saw him off with another (not the one he has now, I don't know who it was) although I still retain some allure. (You know how rock stars are.) Then in the dream I got to sit in or a jam session with Macca or be at another big concert he gave and then everything was peachy. Then I found out he was gonna play at Greensboro, N.C. ! (My home state.) I screamed in great surprise and happiness, this time. Perhaps my dream of seeing his show again will come true. I'm delirious, over the moon, just thinking about it
Also keep an eye out for other fans at the arena who may have spare tickets they are trying to get rid of. Many times people will sell spares at less than face value just to get rid of them, especially the closer it gets to the start of the concert.

For some reason I was thinking this arena was smaller than Charlotte. But GSO is 23500 capacity and Charlottes is 19000. I'm hoping we'll be okay on the 16th row. Do they ever let you do trade-ins for tickets at the box office day of show? Like...if better seats become available for the same price...I wonder if they'll let you upgrade. Anyone know? These will be my worst seats with Paul in the past two times since I've seen him.
-
Yes, they will probably let you upgrade You could call Ticketmaster for Greensboro Coliseum and inquire. I'll need to get one of the cheaper nosebleed tix, hope there are some left, wish I could get closer to him...I'll be sitting on the concrete near the box office about seven hours before the show begins (!) and I'll know he's inside tuning his guitar and what not (I think he knows how to play, by now!)...it'll drive me bananas to be "so near, and yet so far" from Macca, like at Charlotte when I knew he was in there and doors hadn't yet opened. Such frenzied fervent anticipation emanated from the crowd through heat waves, was so hot that summer in N.C., I saw one little child faint waiting to see Paul

if you really do get there 7 hours before the show starts, you will be able to see Paul arrive in his limo/SUV. Just find the stage entrance and be there around 4 pm and you will be able to wave at him as he drives by.

Flying down to JAX tomorrow straight from work to see the show with a friend who will be seeing Paul in concert for the first time. Then going to Greensboro with another friend who has never seen him before. Can't wait to see them flipping out to the Macca Magic! Safe travels to one and all. Hope to meet some of you boardies at the show!

Didn't a boardie win tickets for SanFrancisco? I believe so. Don't know through which contest though. I think many are looking for tickets still... at this late date.
-
Many thanks for tip about being at stage entrance at 4 p.m. to see Macca go by--Man would that be a thrill--he's looking so cute lately, too. Especially cute Maybe a miracle will transpire and will be able to get closer than nosebleed seat

I'm not sure this has been addressed yet. Perhaps some of the local fans can give us some guidance if they have been to a concert at this arena in the past if this is enforced. I've also pasted The Coliseum policy on cameras below. Has anyone local called the facility to ask about camera policy for this event? I have a zoom camera but it is fixed not interchangeable lens. I have used this type of camera at Paul's other shows. Cameras/Photography No commercial or flash photography of any kind is permitted. Camcorders or any other audio/visual equipment is prohibited unless authorized by team/promoter or performer. Specifically, the use of the following equipment is NOT permitted: Telephoto or zoom lenses of any kind Interchangeable lenses of any kind Monopods or tripods Flash equipment of any kind For events such as graduations, recitals or children?s performances, please contact the Guest Services Manager at (336) 373-7461 for special arrangements. Also policy on bags: Coliseum event staff will advise all patrons and guests seeking entry to the particular event that all parcels, packages, large pocket books, tote bags, containers, bundles, knapsacks, back-packs, umbrellas, coolers, bags, cartons, paper sacks, duffel bags, briefcases, portfolio cases, binocular cases, camera equipment cases, and any other type of extraneous device(s) which could be used for carrying or concealing items will not be allowed to be brought into the Coliseum. Patrons with prohibited items will be allowed to return such items to their vehicle but will not be able to leave such items outside the facility doors. Any such items left outside will be immediately discarded by the facility. The only exceptions for entry will be small purses, and then it must, in fact, be a purse and not some other substitute device serving the function of a woman?s purse. Baby travel bags will also be an exception provided a baby accompanies them. No other substitute purse devices may be brought into the Coliseum unless approved by Coliseum Management. All guests and items are subject to a consent inspection upon entering the facility. This consent inspection may involve metal detectors. All small purses and baby bags will be subject to consent inspection, without exception.

The lady answering the phone said small cameras are ok as long as the lens "does not extend beyond 3 inches." Locals, are they really gonna check? Are they strict about it?

I'm also really surprised about the bags not allowed in. If that's true I would think getting into the venue will take a long time. Just in case, get there early.

Smoothie King Center in New Orleans is right next to the Superdome where the NFL games are played. Smoothie King had the same signs as the NFL signs = no purses except clutch size, etc. Just to be safe I didn't carry in a purse or bag of any kind. The "no bag" line was a lot shorter than the line for people with a bag. Hope this helps.

Just wondering who's all going to Greensboro. This is my first time doing Sound Check - any tips or advice?
