Going to see "Love"
-
Just returned from Vegas. Saw "LOVE," which was great. I was wondering, however, why the show used the shortened versions of "Revolution" and "Back In The USSR." I know the CD contained those versions because space didn't allow for the full versions of those two songs that were on the DVD/Soundtrack for the performance. It was a bit strange. The show moves along so fast it's hard to keep track of everything going on...One thing/number that sticks in my mind is Ringo's "Octopuses' Garden." Loved the lighting, the floating jellyfish, etc., which made it seem as if you were under the sea. There were other great moments. I'm very protective of the Beatles and their legacy, so it was important that their music be properly interpreted. Cirque did a good job...but could improve. At times, to me, there was just too much 60s dance moves going on by the cast for various numbers. I did expect a bit more creativity on their part. But the sound is soooooo good. The music is the star of the show. No doubt about it!!!

I really like Here Comes the Sun & Strawberry Fields. It really captured John & George.
-
Definitely agree the music is the star of the show! I saw it last month and it was brilliant! One of the best visual effects I've seen (Roger Waters' The Wall is number 1 :wink Alice Cooper was in the audience too.

I saw the 5th Anniversary of LOVE two weeks ago and it was even better than the first time I saw it in 2006. It was also only $55.00! They are having lots of specials running now.

I saw the Cirque Du Soleil LOVE show in Vegas at The Mirage when I went with my family. It was really fantastic! We had seats like way up and in the back section but they were pretty much the best because I could see everything from my seat. The acoustics of that place make me sad about not staying in my Acoustics class in college, oh well. Oh my God though.. I wish I could see it again and again and again and each time go under a different mindset/feeling. Nothing to extreme but just like on a regular day or on a dreary day or whatever no idea. Really lifted my spirits too.

I've see it each time I travel to the US> Meeting Paul at the 5th anniversary show was special, but it's special for me each time I see it. I've seen it 7 times so far, and I hope to see it again!
-
I've only seen it once (from the front row which was awesome!) but I'd "LOVE" to go again!
-
3 times so far for me, and I plan to go again! The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil together, you can't beat it!

Meeting Paul... do tell. That'd be the ultimate blast.

We finally went earlier this year. We had been to two other Cirque shows and didn't find them all that amazing?the raft sequence in "O" was endless, and there's just too much posing after each acrobatic feat?but "LOVE" far exceeded our expectations. I think the constraints of the songs kept everything moving along, and it was just beautiful. The "Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows" part was especially cool, but I won't give it away if you don't already know about it! We had good seats, near the front of the second section from the stage, but I think it would be impressive anywhere, the way it's staged in the round.
