RIP Cynthia Lennon
-
From the Harrison family Sending our love and deepest sympathies to dear Julian Lennon. May God bless Cynthia always. Love Dhani & Olivia

I've never been sure of this, but are there any John songs written specifically about Cynthia?
-
^^ I read once that, "Do You Want To Know A Secret" was written for Cynthia. Based on the Snow White movie songs that John and his Mom Julia used to watch in the movie theatres together when he was a young boy.
-
So sad to hear this... It is fitting to her legacy that the entire Beatles community has united in consoling Julian and, IMO, been brought a little closer together by it. May she rest in peace
-
RIP Cynthia. A classy lady.
-
I'm speechless! R.I.P. Cynthia.

And others. She mentions them in her books.

Such a sad loss to Julian. I pray for him and all Cynthia's family. RIP dear sweet lady.

Cynthia always maintained dignity throughout her life & never trashed certain people. She was a classy lady all the way.
-
At least they all did make peace to an extent. See this article from 2010, on the occasion of Julian's photography exhibit: http://imaginepeace.com/archives/12465

I told my sister about Paul writing "Hey Jude" for Julian and Cynthia, and about Paul taking Cynthia a rose the day after he heard about the impending divorce, and about Paul asking Cynthia to marry him (Cynthia wrote about this). My sister replied, "What if she had said 'yes' because after all so many did want to marry him. What would he have done then." Interesting to ponder.
-
^^ such a kind gesture of Paul. I have never heard it before, the part where Paul proposes with a rose. Obviously she loved John very much.
-
Rest in peace cynthia

A nice interview with Cyn on NPR. http://www.npr.org/2015/04/02/397057478/in-her-life-after-john-cynthia-lennon-didnt-stop-loving-him

Very sad news about Cynthia, heard her being interviewed a few times and she always came across as very dignified. Condolences to Julian and his family.

There's some great fan fiction based on that premise! Actually Paul just kiddingly said "Maybe we should get married Cyn!"
-
It's also sad that she died a week before Julian's birthday.
-
And that she never had grandchildren. So sad that she missed out on that (this is not a criticism of Julian's choices, at all).

Yoko's comments about Cynthia, sort of. And herself. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/yoko-ono-remembers-cynthia-lennon-she-embodied-love-and-peace-20150403

Am I the only one - or one of the few people - who didn't know she had cancer? I'm a bit stunned by this news.
