Saw both shows and was very happy with what I saw...first show was in the floor and last night was lower bowl row 3 right next to the stage...awesome view but person behind me asked us to sit down which annoyed me a bit so we sat down for a little while but stood up again...don't understand why people would get tix that close and expect everyone to sit down. Most people were standing anyway Took 2 of our kids to,the second show and they had a blast Same setlist from night before except for the Fallon thing, but I didn't mind. The stage set up and light show and playing songs I havent heard before was great... A couple of warbles but his voice was just fine for me...

Looking at photos from previous shows, seems he's wearing the same colored jacket (grayish blue) every night. Does anyone have any photos from the second night in Vancouver (4/20)? Thank you.
It may have been the same jacket or a slightly different color. Same style. I couldn't see it as well as I could on night 1 so I guess I am not a reliable witness. ops:

Soundcheck #2 setlist... Blue Suede Shoes/Jam Honey Don't Coming Up Day Tripper Let Em In Miss Ann San Francisco Bay Blues Things We Said Today Ram On Bluebird Lady Madonna After the crowd left ran through Mull a few times.
The soundcheck I saw in Fortaleza in 2013 was 15 songs and lasted 65 minutes. Are soundchecks getting shorter?

2nd night Vancouver was a bit shorter. Night 1 was 14 songs and about 50 minutes. He arrived later on night 2 and maybe they wanted to make sure they got a Mull rehearsal in with the pipe band. He almost never soundchecks Mull in front of the paying customers. (yes I know some people HAVE seen it but never me.)

Agree with this, Soundcheck started almost 30 minutes later on Night 2 than Night 1.

No one wanted to wake Paul from his nap

Hey, I loved my view, but it got kinda funny during 'Mull Of Kintyre' .That was the first video I watched of this tour and while his voice gets weaker after the key change and on the higher parts...I still think the negative comments on this board are greatly exaggerated, as usual. :
Says he who has watched just one video of this tour. :

Yawn.
Fallon thinks he's quite a star, doesn't he? ...grandstanding hack.
-
Great to read his voice is improving. Wonderful news.

Having attended the Fresno concert, and then watching numerous clips online from his subsequent gigs (Portland, Seattle & Vancouver), I will say that his voice sounds worse on the audio recordings than it did in person. So, unless you actually were AT a concert, it would not be fair to judge based on audio recordings taken with an amateur recording device.

Or you just don't notice how bad it is when you are at the concert swept up in all the excitement? There are plenty of clips online from the 02/03 tour on much worse recording equipment, and even from much more recently, where he sounds great.

I actually listened with a bit of a discerning ear...and so did hubby who only went to accompany me, so he was completely non-partisan. I am not saying it was perfect in person, there were a few times when I winced, but the bad spots DO sound worse on audio recordings.

I am glad to hear that, I hope I don't notice it quite so much in Berlin! I'm genuinely worried that I'm just gonna be sad the entire time , Here There and Everywhere and You Won't See Me are two of my favourite songs ever but watching them on Youtube just fills me with sadness. I hope actually seeing the genius that wrote them performing them in person will outweigh that negativity.

Still not over this show .

And I say again...I WAS at Fresno and Portland and he sounded shithouse.

I trust your judgment too, you're not one of the crazed boardies. The trolls will troll on. I don't think he sounds that bad.

Paul's voice is not what it used to be. To affirm that is not trolling. To say "he doesn't sound that bad" is very relative and in a sense is true, in that he doesn't sound bad compared to Bob Dylan or if he lost his voice. But there is a feebleness and shakiness to his voice that was actually noticeable in 2002, it is just a lot worse now. People need to be realistic. People WANT him to sound how he did in 2010 or 2005 to justify paying what they are paying to see him. At this point, it's almost more about just seeing the legend/genius on stage than it is about hearing him. I have always said, "See Paul when and if you can, since you will get to hear the legend himself perform those songs he wrote." But Paul singing Yesterday in 2016 is no where NEAR as good as when he sang it in 1993. It's delusional to think it is.

Agree on that - last time I saw Paul in Boston (2013), I thought he sounded great....but I then heard youtube videos of the show later on and could hear more vocal issues than I thought I'd hear...but it doesn't take away from the show. because everyone is there in a celebratory mode, singing along...and it's still a great time to pay tribute to a great artists...Must mention I don't wince because I know what I'm getting

I think that is the right attitude about all this. You KNOW what you are getting. It is normal he won't sing at 74 like he did when he was 64 or 54. That's ok. You go to be in the moment, to see a legend.

It was like this on Out There too for me. He sounded amazing in Austin, but there was one song that sounded awful on my recording. I think it was Another Day.
