Three whole songs after 1973! (Of course, I would be thrilled to be there.)
-
Let's hope "It's So Easy" (or another Buddy Holly Song -- would love Paul to add "That'll Be the Day"), "One After 909" and "Every Night" make their way into the forthcoming full set...
-
While there are always some things I can do without (why does he keep playing Drive My Car live...), it's a much more interesting list than I expected for a short show.
-
That's a cool setlist for a shorter show. You get both Bubby Holly and Carl Perkins. A Beatles song seldom played in 909, a great early Macca gem in Every Night. When was the last time he didn't do Live and Let Die? RamblinRed

And no BOTR, Long and Winding Road, Paperback Writer, Blackbird, and a few other setlist mainstays.
-
Nice little rehearsal for the 2015 shows!

So sad all day, I missed finding out about this show in time. It was a great setlist and I sure hope there are some videos on you tube!! What a gift, $40 those lucky people!
-
I believe the show is just about wrapping up. Doesn't seem the rumoured celebrity cameos on stage came to pass.

r u kidding? he sounds FAB!!!!
Fifth post? Nuh. He sounds crap...
-
Sounded absolutely fine to me -Rubber Soul13

Phoning it in. If even for "impromptu" gigs like this he wheels out the "been there - done that" ... well, good luck mate.

So because somebody has only posted a few times on the board they can't have an opinion?

Setlist works for me! Cool! Love the addition of 909 and Every Night!

I just wish that he'd do more of these intimate gigs in other cities, too. I think the way they went about it was pretty fair; announcing it the morning of, charging an affordable price, and you get see Paul in a small venue, instead of in a massive stadium.

Agreed, even though some scalpers sadly did get ahold of some of the tickets, It was nice to see most of them went to fans because of the way they went about the sale.

I think the way to get around that is do something similar what the Stones did a few years ago. They did a small show at a club called the Echoplex in L.A. Tix were $20, and they kept track of who had which wristband by taking down your Driver's License # and matching it with the wristband number and ticket that they gave you. That way, it would be impossible for anyone to pawn off their wristband and ticket to another person.

I like that and I'm a bit surprised they didn't do that with the tickets today.

Thats a really great idea. Scalpers are so ruthless now days and I think some of the venues are also getting a take. I just tried to buy tickets for Stevie Wonder and even tho I was able to sign in exactly at 10:00 the time they went on sale, the only tickets available were tickets on the ticket company's own resale site for 3x the price....or nosebleed tickets!! That should not be allowed!! How can there be so many tickets in the ticket resellers own site at 10:01... So unfair. I don't think the artist is making the extra money either.

The show was utterly fantastic! Showered with red confetti and rose petals during My Valentine. Good times!
