SECOND SINGLE FROM "NEW" - "QUEENIE EYE"
-
I doubt there will be much difference between the two.

I think its There were rules you never told me Never came up with a plan and cause you've been putting it about at the beginning then running (I think) Otherwise thank you very much
Nancy R:
Bill, I think it's: "There are rules you never told me" and "Life's a game, rags to riches" Let me know what you think.
Thanks to both of you, I heard it your way, after I knew what to listen for. Is it just me or does the song end on the same sounding note so it you had it on a continuous loop, it's seamless?
-
Quite simply, this puts a smile on my face. Love it!!!!!!

Got to hear a little bit of Queenie Eye at the end of Paul's Howard Stern interview this morning. Really like it, but I think I'm going to resist listening to the full song until I get my hands on the album. I think it sounds very modern and still sounds like Paul. I think the younger crowd could definitely get into this!

Me likey.

I love the piano riff!! It reminds me of a slower version of Flaming Pie's piano riff. The bass sounds so amazing and powerful too!! I'm so happy! And I can't wait to see what else Paul has in store for us. I also love how "Everybody Out There" reminds me of "Young Boy." It has that happy acoustic sound that is so lively and motivating. Hmm I can't really explain it, just a personal way of looking at life. I guess I'm just trying to do "some good before I say goodnight" for the night. It's 2 am here in New York! But I just can't stop thinking about Paul's New album.
Oh, it IS good!!! And it sounds even better each time I listen to it. It locks into the brain. I'll be doing my own little sing along of it all day...at the office!!! "Queenie Eye, Queenie Eye......." Great production! Very dense and very interesting. It's Beatley without purposely trying to sound that way. Not even slightly derivative. Paul still has that special gift. (And I love Paul's explanation of what it all means...the childhood- game-thing. Didn't Ringo have a song that had the lyric O-U-T spells out? Maybe he had that same childhood game in mind....
The Beatles used "O-U-T spells out" in their 1967 Christmas message. For the Anthology, the complete take of the song part of that message was edited into its own track "Christmas Time (Is Here Again)" and then Ringo covered that on his 1999 Christmas album "I Wanna Be Santa Claus". There's a heck of a lot of OUT on this NEW album!
Oh, thank you!!!!! I knew I heard it somewhere before....Yeah, it was on the Beatles' Christmas song.....when I first heard it...on a (continual) repeat of that Christmas message on the radio, I thought..."That is kind of simplistic. Why is he saying that?" Now I have an idea, and it makes sense and is a great thing.!! Maybe it was an inside joke that we never knew about....until now. Yeah think" ???

Sounds like a Fireman single. Sonically very close to 'Sing the Changes'. Don't hear much Wings/Beatles in it.

Sounds like a Fireman single.
Or one by The Rutles.

Just had my first listen. Honestly, nothing short of pure brilliance. Love the echo track on his voice. The uptempo beat. The change in the middle. I'm beginning to get it. "Everything old is NEW again" Somehow he's reached further back than on any other solo album I can remember, yet it sounds modern and refreshing. What a treat!!!

After a few listens on my computer, I think this is one I'll have to get to know better on a proper stereo with decent sound. It's energetic, but I don't instantly love it. I have a feeling it'll either really grow on me, or I'll come to dislike it the way some people dislike "Nod Your Head" (for the record, I am emphatically not one of them, but I see how it could rub some people the wrong way. How it will do as a single, I have no clue. I thought "New" would break through more than it did.

Or one the Beatles might have done at this point in their career. It has that magical vibe....to me.

OMG...it, to me, isn't even remotely in the 'Nod You Head' category....an afterthought! This is get out of your chair and dance around the room.....!!!!!

Wow, it would never have occurred to me to think of "Nod Your Head" as an afterthought. I've always thought it absolute genius -- it makes me grin every time. Tastes are funny. But seriously, like it or not, if you listen closely it's clear a lot of effort went into the track. You may not like it, but it's not an afterthought.

Sounds great No one else has mentioned this yet but on the player it says this is a radio edit so the album version will be longer.
The radio edit is about 3'26", and according to iTunes the album version is 3'48"
