________________________________________________ Wow, this is a pleasant surprise. Because there has been very little (if any) concrete US promotion from Paul and his team since NEWwas released (October 15) this shows that "word of mouth" and all those favorable reviews are paying off. The quality of NEW continues to gain positive recognition and many of those "baby boomers" out there are starting to buy. If Paul does decide to tour America again in 2014 and plays a healthy dosage of NEW songs, NEW will stay strong on the Billboard Album Charts throughout the NEW YEAR. That would be pretty great.

It's conceivable he could bounce up higher again next week, since there are so many holiday albums above him that will inevitably start to tumble off the chart.

End of year Global Album Chart sales are out and they show what a shocking year it's been for album sales only three albums out of the top 40 manage to get over 3million . David Bowie's The Next Day comes in tops for the older guys with a respectable #28 and 1.2million sales , I still say Paul should have released NEW earlier in the year like Bowie . http://www.mediatraffic.de/year-end-albums.htm

A 'concept album' is almost a thing of the past.... Unfortunately the concept 'album' is heading the same way. It's all singles and downloads these days.... although I fling my hat at a rack and I hope that both will come back into fashion. I do hope the tide will turn. And it surely will... That being said, I don't own a hat.

Bowie's album came out in March so seven months ahead of NEW, so it will be interesting to compare NEW's sales further down the line. As many have said Bowie being away for a decade helped too.

The CW is re-airing the iHeartRadio Festival this coming Monday and Tuesday, which might help some as well. Glad to see the album is continuing to have a commercial life, even if it's not quite at the top of the charts.

I saw the ad on tv the other day.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear the song "New" on our local popular light rock station a couple of days ago. It was the first time I had heard it on the radio anywhere.

That's awesome...but what the heck took 'em so long???? I requested both "New" and "Queenie Eye" at three or four radio stations in my market, but, alas... Still, I wonder why the sudden, belated interest in "New"?

Another thing I think has been helping NEW sales during the Christmas season based on the recent Billboard Album Chart (from like 122 to 60). I noticed that some of the retailers (i.e. Walmart, Best Buy, Target) are placing NEW right next to the Beatles new BBC CD on an End Cap of New CD's. For all those baby boomers who are much more Beatle fans (than Solo fans) they are "directly" seeing Paul's new album if they are considering the new Beatles CD. Unless they are living in Mars, they probably have heard/seen some of the positive buzz about NEW. This can't hurt in getting more impulse sales at the retail level. Since it is Christmas time, I'm sure many people end up buying both NEW and the BBC CD's as presents.

I'm sure the SNL appearance may have helped as well.

Paul is on top of tour rank again, ahead of kanye west, justin bieber, etc. This is also great news. Japan shows helped NEW. The album is not getting promotion and it' s raising up. If he starts touring he can get platinum. C'mon Paul, show this great album to your fans. Tour again. Tomorrow, here in Brazil, two channels will show the Something New special, Multishow and Bis, 18 :00 hs and 21:00 hs.

Well this is interesting: The song "New," having long ago dropped off the Adult Contemporary airplay chart, is now back at #30 as of this morning: http://www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=255601 That's not a massive number of spins, but it's something from a record that seemed to be dead and buried in November. Don't forget, Pt. II of the iHeartRadio Music Festival with Paul re-airs tonight on CW stations. That may give a small boost as well. I know "New" made it onto the TV version -- does anyone remember if any other new songs did?

I agree, for the most part. However, it does seem like albums continue to serve a purpose for artists' most dedicated fans.

I saw it advertised; now I wished I'd bothered to watch it. If I were a betting man, my money would be on this: -Save Us -New -Live & Let Die
