SAVE US!

Hope the whole album sounds as good as these NEW ones.
-
Ugh, I think that both the songs sound pretty lame. Flat. I really am digging 'New" though
-
Paul can't win for losin'. There is just no satisfying/pleasing some people. "I don't like this 'Hey' repeated four times"... or what the hell ever at the end. Would repeating it twice twice have been better and met your expectations? Sometimes I just want to say "shut the hell up". This is one of those times. :

As I mentioned on the I Heart Thread, I like both Everybody Out There and Save Us (And of course "New" itself). All 3 songs should stay if Paul does another big tour in 2014. Think about what they would add to the Setlist. Hopefully, there's more from the New Album that are begging to be played live. To my ears, "Everybody Out There" has an REM feel to it a la "Losing My Religion" especially with the acoustic guitar parts. And I love the "Heys" ! Great back-up singing by Abe, Rusty and Brian. "Save Us" to me has a similar feel to "Only Mama Knows". Love the Save Us/Save Us Now repetition. Great rocker.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but yes people are going to be picky about songs from this record. We will hear it is a "masterpiece" to it is "garbage". I am sure we will hear people say the lyrics make them cringe or McCartney's voice is horrible. From what I have heard on the youtube clips, I like the songs a bunch and look forward to the rest of the record. Finally, is repeating "Hey" four times better than "1,2,3,4,5, let's go for a drive" - lol jk.

Do the people who dislike the "heys" in Everybody Out There also hate the ho-hey-ho chorus in Mrs. Vandebilt?

Out of the 3 he did in Vegas , Save Us was my fav, really does rock live.

Glad to see somebody else agreeing with me about "Save Us."

New is the catchiest song of them all, the others are just ok to me.
-
Again, I absolutely see "Save Us" being the theme song from one of the new upcoming Marvel Comics mega movie... Avengers? All three new songs from iheart were great. Its just a thrill beyond words to hear this guy put out any new music. It's just like a sweet cherry on top of a mountain of ice cream and fudge. Really, does it get any better having new Paul music in our lives?
-
In my opinion, Save Us and Everybody Out There are very good songs, especially Save Us, and New is ok.

I agree also although "Everybody Out There" is a good concert song. I like "New" but I thought the others were better live. That being said, think "New" will sound better on CD than "Everybody Out There" if that makes sense - lol.
-
Not that this necessarily means anything, but I noticed that the 3 songs we have heard so far used 3 separate producers: New - Mark Ronson Save Us - Paul Epworth Everybody Out There - Giles Martin Maybe this is a good sign in that the consensus so far is quite positive toward all 3 songs. Once we hear the entire album, it may prove that Paul worked well with all the individual producers while giving the CD good variety. I also think that generally the members on this site are very honest when it comes to evaluating Paul's music. Hopefully, the whole album is as consistent and good as the 1st 3 songs.

It's going to be at least a good album. I'm so happy. These may be the 3 most commercial tracks on it maybe?

This.. Well as it turns out "New" now sounds like the "masterpiece" so far...which is not saying a lot as I was unimpressed at first but now quite like it. "Save Us" sounds like an outtake of the already derivative "Only Mama Knows" and "Everybody Out There"..the bastard son of "Hope of Deliverance" and "Freedom"! Oh well, still good to see him out there of course.

After a few listens, "Everybody Out There" has somewhat grown on me, I'd forgotten to mention the little guitar riff in my previous post, it's really good. As for "Save Us", I still find it very mediocre...I've been able to trace part of its verse to "No Values" too
