Paul McCartney Archive Collection

AbbeyRoadCrosser:
It looks as there we will be no new Macca remasters before 2012. etcetra posted that there had been no work done this month on the archive collection. I think it is safe to say two things. 1. No more remasters this year. 2. And by the time all these are out I'm going to be married with a couple of kids running in the yard.
This sounds unlikely, but if true I may have to just fork out for a second hand copy of RAM, or download it... Hmmm...

Looking closer into this, the post said no work in Hog Mills. I looked in my McCartney book and the only work done there was with 'Suicide'. The unreleased song. So no one was expecting much in the way of bonuses in V&M and ATSOS. So perhaps this just means no new work on Ram but the two maybe three are ready for release this year?

No work done at Hog Hill, doesn't mean it hasn't been done at Abbey Road! The work at Hog Hill is mainly going through the unreleased stuff, so if this hasn't been done who knows. They could be doing it now, they could have done it last year. A lot of the days for McCartney show work was done in 2010. However it doesn't sound promising. I for one hoped we would get at least Ram for christmas. Maybe we will. Remember Paul's been very busy what with touring, Ocean's Kingdom, two supposed new albums (well he's been recording one of them), planning his wedding and his usual busy work.

When did McCartney and McCartney II get announced? About two months before their release?
About that. The two McCartney albums were officially announced here on 27th April and were released on 13th June which i think is about seven weeks and a few days.
Interesting. That oftentimes has been the time between he announces concerts and then plays them. I think we have every reason in the world to not just hope but expect a Christmas season release of one of the remasters. November 2009 it was the live album, last November BOTR. Wait till the Oceans CD comes out in early October and then maybe we will see a release date for a remaster set in late November/early December, just in time for Santa.

"From a reliable source: looks like only Ram in 2011."

"From a reliable source: looks like only Ram in 2011."
If this true (and I was expecting Ram to be a standalone release) I hope this means that they're jam packing Ram (trying not to get my hopes up) and don't want V&M to pale in comparison. Just hoping this is the case.

Has anyone heard any news on this - will the release schedule resume after 'Kisses' and will the rate of release increase? ? I'm worried that, at this rate, it's going to take 10 years to get all the cds out!

are you talking about the re-issues?

As far as i'm concerned the remasters can wait while I save up enough money to buy a decent enough 1st pressing of The Beatles "Please Please Me" black/gold label! ops: Mind you, could be waiting a while!

i really hope we get some really intresting tour stuff on the new pages. I mean think about it! They must have recorded more than two or three complete shows from 1990 tour becuse the footage they used on Get Back -film. I really hope they release the Rio De Janeiro concert from 1990 tour or even more. Looking for Philadelphia show too... Or the 1993 tour. they aired some complete concerts on American TV (Charlotte ect)...It would be freat to see those in HD quality. And there should be able to download it too...

With Ram hopefully due out somepoint in the next few months does anybody know any of the bonus material that might be available? Im hoping that Thrillington is going to be part of the bonus material and unreleased songs from the Ram sessions.
-
I've read that the pop/rock record is being recorded now but will not be released until 2013. Hope that means we will get a couple of remasters to tide us over.

That would be the most sensible thing to do. Here's hoping...............

If it's done right this remaster could be phenomenal! Ram in Mono Unreleased tracks Thrillington.
