"Maybe it's to be enjoyed on a long car journey or an evening at home or at a party with friends? So we got our heads together and came up with these diverse playlists from various periods of my long and winding career.?
Amazing that on this release there are about 30 songs that have never been played live once. Besides nothing from FITD being on this I am also stunned that "House of Wax" and "That Was Me" was left off also. Can't believe he included "Bip Bop" which is just awful. If you want to have something from "Wild Life" why not "Tomorrow" which is much better song.
He apparently thought listening to a piece of drivel such as "Bip Bop" might be fun. I believe he said that was the criterion he and his "assistants" used when compiling the song listing. His idea of fun....doesn't coincide with ours....quite often, this "song" being a prime example. :
lol, yep makes you wonder about his idea of fun - ha ha

You win the McCartney board for this week.

I don't expect too much thought was put into the list..... sounds like four or five guys or gals having a cup of tea and just putting something together over a five minute break..... we of course would want more effort put into it..... Either way, it's a pretty impressive listing... because how could it not be?..... but lacking in so many other ways.... not my complete choice of tea. I'm a coffee drinker, for one.... And I'm getting too old to buy something I can just jiggle and re-arrange to have at a fingertip.
-
I would add Oh Woman Oh Why Flying To My Home , but that's JUST ME...He cant please EVERYONE , I cant wait to have a First Listen on the 10TH , Just taking it in

_______________________________________________________ Yankeefan, And how about not including Somedays, Young Boy, Take It Away, Tug of War, Hope of Deliverance and Golden Earth Girl. There certainly will be plenty of good choices for Pure McCartney 2. I guess where I was scratching my head was the phrase "Career Spanning". To me, the 9 or 10 songs you and I just named are "much" better songs than 10 or 12 songs I see on that list. Like a few mentioned, however, at least he is coming out with a compilation that has songs later than 1984 (Wingspan and All the Best).

I bet Paul put that one in just to get a rise from the critics/fans. Even he knows its a terrible "song", based on past interviews he's done. Still, I think the biggest travesty is leaving his comeback album FITD off. No 'My Brave Face'? 'This One'? 'You Want Her Too' 'Put it There', etc. ???

The first time I heard "My Brave Face" I thought it was such a Beatle like song.

Funnily enough, I don't mind Bip Bop that much..... I know that might drive a wedge between us!..... but, hey, I'm on the positive side of Girlfriend.....

(Doing my best Johnny Carson impression as Carnac the magnificent) the answer is Bip Bop and Girlfriend. What are two McCartney songs that should have all copies and the master tapes erased? (ð???) So ,yes we all have our favorites and songs we don't like.

Does anyone know if the tracks that haven't yet been released in the Archive Series collections have new remasters? I will still buy it, being the completest that I am, but I'm curious what it really offers that I don't have. So far the only thing that comes to mind is a CD release for Hope For The Future, instead of just a download. Maybe getting the rest of the tracks remastered would get me a little more excited, although I definitely want the whole catalog updated (and all the odds and ends tidied up as bonus tracks). I really wish we could get some news on the Flowers deluxe edition.

Yes, all the cuts from the 70's, 80's and 90's not covered yet in the Archive Releases, are remastered. That's 'Back To The Egg' (Arrow Through Me, Baby's Request), 'Press To Play' (Press, Good Times Coming/Feel The Sun), 'Flaming Pie' (The Song We Were Singing, Flaming Pie, Calico Skies, Souvenir, The World Tonight, Beautiful Night, Little Willow, Great Day), 'Red Rose Speedway' (Big Barn Bed, My Love), 'Wild Life' (Bip Bop), 'London Town' (Girlfriend, With A Little Luck, Don't Let It Bring You Down) and 'Off The Ground' (Winedark Open Sea), all remastered for 2016. Unfortunately the tracks from after that are not. Will be funny to see how much db's lower they had to put the 'Memory Almost Full'-tracks.

Ha, yep, I am aware of that segment from the great Johnny Carson. Mine would be Scared and Hosanna..... but, sssh, I also don't mind Mary Had A Little Lamb.... well, it is certainly much better than the original... And I reckon I am the only one that has ever said he likes Tug of Peace.....
