BTW, anyone know if Bluray is really worth upgrading to?
I say no. the discs are overpriced ($60 is typical where a DVD is $15-20). Plus, what really turned me off is that the disc have security features that make them unplayable until you log online and turn them off. this can happen in the middle of a movie. It happened last Christmas when my family watched Avatar. We got to see the unaired teaser, then once it got to the part of the movie we already knew, the disc went wonky. It was a security feature and the gear heads in the house couldn't figure how to turn it off. That turned me off. Goodbye, Blue Ray. I'll come back when you actually play.
In general, I say yes. Far superior picture and sound quality. That price difference quoted above is very inaccurate. Blu Ray is usually only $5 to $10 more than dvd, and most theatrical movies (though not concert videos) come with a dvd also packaged with the blu ray. I have been watching blu ray for over 4 years now, and I have never run into any security or technical issue such as the one described above.

I wonder why we're still not seeing the Rock Show DVD or Blu-ray on Amazon?

I don't think that there are any "one-offs" or special performances/bonuses that could be added to this release. However, I see your point in a way: So much packaging material in this collection, and, yet, only a fraction of it is audio.
Lemme bitch a lil' here. If you're going to add a bonus CD with performances from Cow Palace in Frisco, why add only 8 songs? I'm sure the CD could have been filled with 80 minutes of performances from the same concert, what's the point? This is not a cheap set!

I'm so glad I preordered this before the price skyrocketed. I couldn't afford it otherwise. I'm going to have a Paul coma after I get this one.

I wish I had ordered it at the $90.00 price.

Yet again the UK fans are being screwed by Macca's label. The set is currently on Amazon.com for $140 (UK equivalent £90) and yet on Amazon.co.uk it's listed for £120! A £30 difference!!!!! Why? This happened with the last re-issues too - perhaps someone could explain why it's 25% cheaper in America. Like many others I cannot afford £120 on a nice box of photos with very few extras. Thanks again...after being conned with the premier membership debacle this is yet another slap in the face and a total insult to his British fans. Disgusted.

Don't feel too bad. The Canadian Amazon site has the deluxe edition at close to $300.00 I might have to order it through the US site.

Really appreciate both of your responses! Thank you for taking the time to let me (&others) know of your experiences with Blu Ray.

I made my preorder to Amazon.com by US$ 219 + 10 by transport, and is the first time I buy something from Paul, so expensive, I hope it'll be ok. That demo in the main site made me sin. I can't helped. When RAM was reissued, I only buyed one deluxe edition, not the boxset, so now I told my self don't be stingy...go ahead

In my opinion, a definite yes, provided you've got a hd tv and decent speakers to really appreciate the vastly-improved video and audio quality Blu-ray offers. I've not had any security issues at all, and have been buying Bly-ray for five years. Sure, it was expensive for early adopters, but nowadays the price has dropped significantly and it's good value for money if you appreciate the high definition quality.

Paul doesn't set the Amazon prices. Amazon does.

Rockshow is not well lit, but it was as good lighting as any 70's concert, and the Blu-ray will enhance the original film quality. The sound will be incredible though.

I personally really excited to see the Wings Over the World movie. I remember seeing it as a kid, my Dad recorded it off TV and had it on Beta there were these crazy Budweiser 'Taste Buds' commercials. I thought those were the coolest! If I remember correctly it was quite the amazing show, great behind the scenes stuff. found it on YouTube of course

Yeah! What's up w/ that! Perhaps some nice fan who purchases this will download it onto Youtube so we can enjoy. I will buy "Rock Show" Blue Ray though.

Thanks. Disappointed that we don't get 'Silly Love Songs', one of the biggest hits at the time. Or have I that wrong?
