Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours

Do these arguments have any merit? All these artists are successes with huge followings. McCartney ROCKS!! Now, back to tour rumors!!

From what I read, the Stones are on board for 18 shows, doing multiple shows in one city. The Stones put on a very exciting show. They may not be your cup of tea, but they are one of the most dynamic live acts around.
They also mix up their setlist quite a bit.
That's true...but so many of the songs sounds the same...especially live...
The tens of thousands of fans who will go to their concerts don't care what you think. They sound the same to you because you are not a fan. As I once stated here, I am not a big Eric Clapton fan. Just not for me. But I respect that thousands enjoy his music and his concerts. I saw him once. That was enough for me! I have seen the Stones three times, and if they play New Mexico (they won't) I would go. And I CERTAINLY will go see McCartney if he plays New Mexico!!!
be nice... truthfully, the stones sound like crap last few tours maybe more than that.. I think ppl see them for the one thought -- "it's the Stones" legends..the casual fan.. MicK's vocals are so drowned out be production- back up singers & what not's .. they weren't great at 12-12-12 either~ they were brilliant back in the day...last time I had seen them 10 years plus...they were ok back than Now, Paul, him & the band don't need all that ..back up singers, over production & what nots you can hear Paul's voice although not flawless hiccups now & than.. he's still got it... some just truly do not have an ear for music~
That's your opinion. Stones fans would disagree. And are going to sell out their concerts, regardless of your opinion. Or mine. Whatever. I am more concerned about McCartney's concerts here, and his announcing new dates!!
dude why are you short & kinda not nice at times when you post? ops:

I just saw Eric Clapton (great floor seats in the 2nd section back) on Mar. 27th and once was enough for me too. (practically zero interaction with the audience) Also saw the Stones once in the mid-'90's and that was enough too. I want to see Paul so bad!!
Nancy! come to Europe!

Can't possibly get the time off work, plus my dad broke his hip, had surgery, and is in rehab in Ohio, so a lot on my plate now.

Where are Micks vocals drowned out!?!? He does have two backing singers for songs that require backing vocals. MAny Stones tunes used outside vocalists to create a certain sound they were looking for. WHen I saw PAul last year in STL, he sounded great, but had help with vocals from Rusty,Abe and Brian. No different that what the Stones do.

That's fine if that's how you feel, but Eric Clapton has never been a crowd-interacter really. I'd imagine half of his set was straight blues covers too, right? That's just his thing now...it's pretty much advertised that way too. He's certainly no greatest hits live. I'd love to see him at least once.
You're correct. He did do Layla (slow version), Wonderful Tonight, Tears in Heaven (acoustic set) and towards the end he did Cocaine and Sunshine of Your Love, so I was pleased. I would have rather heard the original fast Layla though.
Love those that you named. Love Eric but I am satisfied to see him on DVDs. Not so with Paul...LOVE seeing him onstage.

What is Monday? Is this the 25 days of Easter or something? Easter is one day, the day he supposedly rose. Friday is good Friday. Monday, I'm pretty sure, is just Monday. I think it's a perfect day to announce the tour. No?

Stones = really good Clapton = really good McCartney = musical god
Regardless of where you place the stones, don'tcha think Eric Clapton is simply more musically talented than Keith Richards? Thus, making him beyond "really good"?
You can put as many "really"s as you'd like before both the Stones and Clapton. U2 is great. Roger Water's The Wall is great.

Easter Monday is public holiday in some countries including the UK.

Oh. Not in the U.S. and that's where the tour is.

Paul needs to announce new dates SOON!! People here are finding really ridiculous things to argue about! Let's have a fight about what HOUR Paul will announce the dates!!
-
Really hoping he announces a few US shows tomorrow. I really want to figure out how many NYC shows there will be (I'm hearing one from some folks and two from others) and then get my ticket for Fenway taken care of.
