What time should I be there if I want to attempt and catch the limo? Also, we've got general admission seats and I want to get the best spot possible. Anyone have any strategies for the Marcus???
I think in Toronto I was out there at about 4pm, and he didn't come until around 6! I'm hoping to get to my hotel about 3pm, so I guess I'm aiming for 3:30-4 to get over to the grounds. I've got a guess on where to try to go to see the limo, but it's really just a guess. I think it's outside the Summerfest gates, so I think I'm going to wander around a little outside before I go in so that I don't have to fool with getting a wristband for re-admission. For the first time I'm making a sign. It's very slow-going! I think I'm about half done. I have no idea about the lawn seats, sorry. I've never been to Marcus before.

Seems like the full set was done: "Expecting McCartney might stick to the set he played at his previous show - June 30 in Belgium - there were a few pleasant surprises. Though he did in fact perform all 31 of the songs he played that night in Europe, he slotted in even more, including "Here, There and Everywhere," "And I Love Her," "Yesterday" and "The Fool on the Hill." Most enjoyable of all for this long-time fan was hearing him play "You Won't See Me" from "Rubber Soul," a record that's been getting excessive playing time in my car these past few months. But, really, there were no real low points, except perhaps a lumbering version of "Temporary Secretary" from 1980's "McCartney II," which did little to move the crowd, except downward off their feet and into their seats." http://mobile.onmilwaukee.com/seasonal/festivals/articles/mccartneysf16.html

Yeah, I've never been a fan of Temporary Secretary and I can see it not being a crowd favourite. But, if the band enjoys it and it's a favourite for a few of the die hards then great. I remember him talking - on that Mastertapes thing, I think - about doing deep cuts and new songs on tour and it being quite disheartening when all the phone lights that'd be up for the hits would just all blink out suddenly. Like nobody cares.

A band from a Liverpool called The Wombats met Paul backstage:

Love to hear reactions from people who attended the Milwaukee show last night. I read one review from Piet Levy of the Journal Sentinel that really praised the show. He admitted that his voice was noticeably strained compared to Macca's last Milwaukee show in 2013. He singled out 2 songs from last night where he apparently really struggled...We Can Work It Out and Maybe I'm Amazed. No surprise at all on the latter song which I personally wish he would replace. As a big time fan, I would find it hard to hear him struggle on one of his most beautiful songs compared to how MIA sounded back in the day. Conversely he did say that there were a couple of occasions where he worked his vocal imperfections to good advantage. One was Here Today and the other was Yesterday where his older and "unsteady" voice gave the lyrics greater and deeper meaning. He did single out his vocal on Blackbird as his "finest moment". Mr. Levy is a huge fan and it was nice to see such a positive review. Don't know if this will continue heading into the bigger markets if his voice stays like it has been. The critics who will write the reviews in New York, Philadelphia and Boston for example don't tend to be big fans of Paul so they will tell it like they hear it. Again, I would like to hear more about his vocals last night from people who were actually there (both good and bad) Thanks

It's funny cause "Temporary Secretary was one of the big highlights of the night for my wife and I!!! It was a really cool show... the only time I've ever see Macca in an amphitheater and we were in the general admission lawn area. We initially were up front on the lawn but decided to move further toward the back but dead center which wound up being really great seats, especially considering that it's one of the smallest lawn sections of any amphitheater I've ever been in. We had a great view of everything... especially the fireworks which felt like they were about 20 feet from us LOL The crowd was up on their feet the ENTIRE show... at least in the lawn anyway. Everybody was in a good mood... nobody being loud or obnoxious... just everyone enjoying the show and singing along. My wife and I brought our 9 year old son. This was his second Macca show, after Washington D.C. in 2013. Of the 6 shows my wife and I have attended, we thought it was hands down one of the most fun!! And our son had a blast and was on his feet dancing the entire evening

______________________________________________________________ Thanks for the report Joe. Sounds like you had a great time and the venue was amazing. Coming from the Philly/S.Jersey area, I was actually at 3 of the shows you attended also. I attended the 2005 and 2010 shows in Philadelphia which I thought were great. What I really liked about both shows was that I heard quite a few songs (maybe 9 or 10) for the first time at each show. A bunch of Friends drove down to the Maryland/DC show in 2013. What I remember about that show was the horrendous traffic trying to get into the show. We barely made it on time. That was also the show I heard Michelle for the first time. Before that, I had been to the 2002 Wachovia show in Philly and the Veteran Stadium Philly shows in 1989 and 1993. Not going to be able to attend the show in Philly next week as I'm still in Florida until mid August. Honestly, I'm not that disappointed because there are only a couple of songs on this tour (Hard Day's Night and Love Me Do) that I haven't seen before. My question to you... Since my memory of the 2005 and 2011 shows (and also the 2013 stadium show) of how good his voice sounded. Did you notice a big difference in the strength of his voice last night compared to those shows. I realize you are in the presence of a Beatle/greatness and that goes along way but just curious.

Quick report...was a great show...excellent crowd and Paul fed off the energy. He did a quick little reprise of In Spite of All the Danger, teaching the crowd to do the "oh-oh-oh-ohs". I thought Maybe I'm Amazed sounded better than it has some nights. It gets such a big response from the audience, tho, I don't really see him cutting it. Friend of mine who was at the show and seeing him for only the second time was "blown away" by the whole show. She was puzzled by Temporary Secretary but loved Queenie Eye. And she didn't have anything bad to say about his voice. Soundcheck included Alligator but I do not think anyone had a sign, he just played it.

"Soundcheck included Alligator but I do not think anyone had a sign, he just played it." Wish he would put it in the set list - lol.

Paul seemed effected a bit by the humidity (and maybe the heat from the stage lights) at the start but got stronger as the show went on...His voice held up well, too, considering the Marcus has some of the finest acoustics around and any vocal blemishes are magnified. Except for a bobble on the first verse of MIA I thought it was the best I've heard it in a couple of years. Maybe the 8 days off helped a bit. Well, off to Cinci.

[quote="5th-beatle"]"Daugter"? "She love's you?" Come on, have some standards. roll lol

Do you feel it was worth the money for the VIP package? I am paying nearly that with the added fees for tickets I ordered from a broker in order to get 5th row center.
