That's one of the dates I had a thread for for last week.
Yes, you repeated the info I had shared several hours earlier: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=91836&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=692

No, I had a thread that the mods merged into this thread I think a day later. But it doesn't make any difference.

I do wonder how many more US shows we'll see. There were 23 full shows in the US last year. We're only at 14. Also, I think there is a strong chance of an SNL appearance before the 4 NYC shows in the fall to promote the shows and the album.

I hope he stays off SNL. He always sounds terrible on that show. Why I don't know. I hope he'll include some west coast dates.

Wonder if MSG will get a second Night on Sunday the 17th

Considering what we "know" so far, what order do you think he is going to do this? (Beside the obvious fact that the Detroit show would be when the arena opens up)
The Shreveport news story actually mentions a date: July 15. The Detroit arena is scheduled to open in September. Supposedly Paul is not playing any shows in August. So there's no real way to tell when any of these are going to happen - I think some may be in July and some may be in September. Or, they are all July except for Detroit.
Nice to see some excitement again!!
Hey Bob...understatement of the year! When you mentioned date(s) would be announced, I don't think anyone here imagined 14 U.S. cities at once...it's like the "old days" again....thanks, Bob!!
-
yes Bob thank you! just think ten days ago things were dead quiet

Still some surprises to be had

Oh my, the emoticon doesn't look like a happy one... or will we all be making that expression when we eventually find out what you aren't able to tell us?
-
No worries, it's a shock emoticon not a sad one!!

I've got a theory about his announcements. And it's all about money. He announces secondary markets that are close enough from major markets such Shreveport with New Orleans, Memphis, Houston that people from those cities will drive there to see him. He lets these cities go on sale. Once they sell out, he announces the shows for Memphis and Houston. Many people have already purchased tickets from those cities, but they decide to go to their city as well. Therefore, 2 tickets sold. For example, last year he announced Sioux Falls on March 9th. As soon as it went on sale and sold out, on the 16th, here he comes with Minneapolis, conveniently the nearest large market and only a 4 hour drive. This also explains why he usually trickles out dates slowly (with the exception of this year). Some of the current dates reflect that attitude, as if they were planned to be trickled out at first. Think, Des Moines-Chicago, Tampa-Miami, or Wichita-Omaha. Wichita is only 3 hours from Kansas City, 2.5 from Oklahoma City and 6 hours from Dallas. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he soon announces shows in one or two of those other cities, as soon as Wichita sells out. I wouldn't be surprised if if/when he announces west coast, he announces, say, Phoenix, Denver, San Diego and El Paso, and immediately follows it up with Albuquerque for Phoenix and Denver, LA for San Diego and somewhere like San Antonio or OK City for El Paso. He rarely announces secondary markets last (not that San Diego or such is a secondary market or anything). I think this is just an interesting thought, and a theory to consider.

Any more July cities? I'm from Pittsburgh looking for nearby summer show...(doing MSG in the fall)... if nothing in vicinity in summer, I'm booking an impulse Florida vacation!
