Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors

May 01 is a holiday (worldwide?), so perhaps they are waiting for it to be over in order to announce the rumored Brazilian shows, meaning later this week.
What the heck holiday is that? May Day? One of our surgeons, long since retired, used to do a sing-song on May 1st (May Day) "May Day, May Day. Hooray, hooray. Outdoor f*#king starts today!"
-
So no Europe/UK rumors?

Hot off the presses, a rave review of one of the Tokyo gigs published yesterday in Australia includes the following paragraph: "Let's hope the ever-growing rumours abounding of an Aussie tour later this year prove true. After a more than 24-year absence to our shores, this is an unmissable gig!" The article can be found here: http://www.noise11.com/news/paul-mccartney-wings-into-tokyo-for-a-week-of-shows-review-20170430 Fingers crossed!

Labour Day. I believe it's a holiday in several countries.
dontcarrytheworld:
I was thinking the same thing. The journalist (he was the first and only source to announce these gigs) said ''may 2 is the day for the pre sale''. Some friends of mine thinks that is just false rumors, cause the journalist is not the best source about Paul... He is really wrong when talks about the ''tour commemorating the 50th anniversary of Sgt. Peppers'' but that is not the first time that the brazilian press says something like the ''Stg. Peppers tour'', I remember they announced in 2012 ''Paul is coming back with his new tour: the Kisses on the Bottom tour''.
Actually, the most reliable source (apart from newspaper articles) is a screenshot from the internal website of a bank (Caixa Econ?mica). An employee shared that image, which included some inside information about the 4 shows (cities and dates), plus pre-sale and general sale details. I think the general strike last Friday (plus the holiday today) postponed it, but I believe the announcement is coming soon.

Wow, SOME shows get announced and the thread goes quiet? Hmm
What do you expect? All the rumoured ones from when the thread took off again are now on sale, and the few prematurely announced ones (through Spotify/Songkick etc.) are awaited to be announcement, same with the ones in Brazil announced in the local press. Nothing more to discuss. The usual flat line on Europe and Australia.
hmm everything is on sale huh? Shows how much you know my friend.....answer...NOT MUCH. And while flat at the moment, I think you'll see at least a few Europe shows (just a guess reading into an earlier conversation with someone who does know....unlike you!)....I love people who know absolutely nothing post like they know what's up. It's quite entertaining. [..]
Dude, this is exactly my point, the only reason you posted that is so you can brag you know more and we don't. Again I ask you: what do you expect from us, talking about rumours we don't know about? You asked why the thread died down, and I explained it to you. I posted exactly that like we all don't know what's up, just read for once. You must have lot of shortcomings in real life if all you can do is brag about connections and think you should call people out who answer you in a direct way. Now, dear master, give us another zip code calculation hint which doesn't bring us any further, but makes you be able to say "see, I knew more" afterwards. It's quite entertaining.
Bob Gannon:
saying that there is nothing more to discuss...I'm not the only one who took it as rude, several people contacted me off list pissed off at his post. Reading it, it's not the way I took it either.....
If they're that pissed after misinterpreting an online forum post, why don't they react here? Nothing rude about answering you. Unlike your reaction after I apparently stepped on your toes. Not used to not everyone approaching you with kids gloves in trade of a hint, or something? There's one user who reacted here and completely understood what I was saying, it's very easy:
Sgt._Pepper:
[..] nobodytoldme means that everything that has been announced at the moment is on sale. None of us are really privy to further shows (except maybe you). We were perplexed by your initial comment because it seems natural that the thread went quiet. None of us are aware of any further rumors (save Brazil shows in October), hence the silence on this thread.
This, this and this. Thanks. The only reason Bob posted that is so he could hint at there's more to come. Just post that then, instead of acting with false modesty being confused why things went quiet, so the only thing we can answer is "because us mortals don't know more, unlike you, Bob!"

It seems not! It really frustrates me that he doesn't play in his home country!!

I'm just quietly waiting for some UK shows

Still think we may see several second nights added to the US cities even NYC as it seems he is setting up a residency there. Think more US cities will be announced soon. South America seems to be the hot rumor now for October. So perhaps The UK will get their winter shows? If the new album does in fact drop in September you may expect appearances on SNL and The Tonight Show as well as several local syndicated national shows that are taped out of NYC The website is pitching Sgt Peppers 50th Anniversary CD so there may be the tie in for Paul to mention that in Tokyo to sell some and hence to at least perform the reprise. At least it is being acknowledged All speculation on my part
I wonder if the new album will even come out this year, but that timing does seem right..

I'm still anxious to find out about these blind items, Bob
Bob Gannon wrote: Posted: 04-23-2017 05:52 PM So far the next set of venues have kept the secrets to this date! Will be interesting to see reaction to a very particular thing. Lol!
Has the particular thing been announced yet? (The "next set of venues" you were referring to were the ones announced on April 25th... and I assume the ones, if any, who will announce at a later date... other than South America )
Bob Gannon wrote: Posted: 04-25-2017 07:49 PM Still some surprises to be had
It's interesting that you used the word surprises... because that usually means it's an announcement we weren't expecting... and hopefully will be highly pleased by I've got my tickets to see him this summer, but am sending lots of positive thoughts that my fellow fans in Australia, Britain and Europe will receive some good news soon!
-
Hmm...wondering if this means Australia in the Nov/Dec range instead of more US or new Euro dates?

No announced yet, still waiting to drop. As far as SA and beyond....still tad early for that. As far as "highly pleased", well that is very subjective. With every show that is announced, there are surely a good number of people pleased when show announced near them. However, there are far more that are disappointed that their area will not see him I think when the total picture of the US shows is in view, I think there will be surprise, whether it's good or bad depends on the individual person's perspective I will say, I was rather surprised

What if Paul is going to play a couple smaller venues around the US and elsewhere? Radio City, Hollywood Bowl, etc? only trouble is I don't see how people could see that as a bad thing? Maybe he'll do a Pepper show in London or something?
-
Perhaps a residency in Vegas? :

There's no way there are anymore full length NYC shows, at new venues at least, coming down the pike. If we've got a new record coming by September, I'm sure the month will be littered with promo gigs while he sets up camp in NYC for the month.

LetMeRollIt89 in the Chicago thread posted that a 2nd night has been added there. It's on FB for Live Nation.

Bob said it would be surprising. That would be surprising to many people who don't think he should do one. I'm just guessing here.
-
Hmmm... what places could he play at that would be totally surprising to us... *thinking and guessing* 1.Outer space... a "gravity-free" concert at the International Space station... which will be simulcast in movie theaters world wide for $50 a ticket... The guys (except for Abe and Wix) could wear baseball caps with chin straps, so there wouldn't be any embarrassing hair stick ups 2. A Christmas Concert at the North Pole... to save the penguins .... I can see Paul now in parka with dark green fake fur trim and ski goggles, trying not to shiver while the cold air blows against him as he sings "My Brave Face". Since it's a Christmas Show, Santa and the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes could also perform, but I can't think of a McCartney song they could do a high kick number to..... 3. Sturges, South Dakota... Biker Week Joint concert with Ringo and ZZ Top. Thought of Paul in black fake leather biker jacket and gloves with cool shades and red bandanna singing Why Don't We Do It In The Road = quick ticket sell out There are so many possibilities

maybe NASA will make him the first human on Mars and he'll play a show
