Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors

my opinion is a hybrid between the two of you and I'll keep it at that

Whatever dude, keep defending a ridiculous position. But hey, it's no sweat off my back. You have the right to your opinion so go on and take it.
it's the f'ing stones, I don't even like them! I have no position! Just calling it as I see it. I don't have anymore to say. I've always liked ya and appreciated you greatly Bob, let's move on!

That's the answer!

I do love the romanticism of playing for the home crowd. Always have. Always will.

Bob Gannon:
I don't find that snobbish or rude to explain why they couldn't put on shows there this time out. I think this is better than just not playing the U.K. And say nothing.
They could book gigs, maybe not in a 40,000 seat venue...but if they REALLY were concerned about playing in the UK. I think THE ROLLING STONES could find a venue. It's snobbish and rude because what they're actually saying is we don't care about the fans, we care about playing gigantic venues that can make us a TON of money and they aren't available right now so it sucks to be a fan of ours.
Yeah it's ridiculous! Britain has a lot of arenas with a big capacity! I'll hopefully see them next year if they come to the UK. It'll mean I've seen three of the Desert Trip acts after seeing The Who last month. They were excellent might I add

guess it's lesson learned, not to bring a Rolling Stones thread onto the McCartney board!! LOL!
-
Did anyone who bought tickets from the venue presale in Detroit this morning notice the box to uncheck if you wanted your info shared with MPL Communications? (Leaving it checked would prevent your info from being shared.)

Someone said The Stones ... ? Circa 100,000 tickets (2 stadium shows) average priced 150 euro gone in 15 minutes this morning. When McCartney comes here the leftover tickets are being given away to fill the venue, and he has 1/5th of the tickets to sell. I'm just saying, I'm always surprised at how big the popularity difference between them is over here. I'm not complaining, always easy to get close through general admission standing without any hassle or queuing. Besides the reputation issue, I guess the overkill factor plays a big role as well, but it's not like McCartney performed that much over here. He shouldn't have ever done Pinkpop last year, which I didn't even attend and was his final straw over here, but in the last 2 decades The Stones did mega shows in 1998, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2014 and now 2017 vs. McCartney with 2003 (first time in 10 years), 2009 (first time in 6,5 years), 2012 and only then 2 times in 2015, the latter which didn't sell at all. It's not that big of a difference. And The Stones have even more insane ticket prices than McCartney, plus many Americanised champagne packages.

So, getting back to topic, I would venture a guess that it is safe to not hold my breath for any concert dates in the West this year?

Seems that way which is too bad...I don't mind travelling to see Paul as have seen him in LA..Dallas..San Jose but I really don't have much interest in visiting the cities which have been announced...Was hoping for a Washington DC gig as I want to visit that city

Yeah... it doesn't look like it. Really thought Anaheim would be one of the cities, considering the last time he was here was 2005.

The September ones in NY are a possibility but have been there before, so..... Just my opinion, but the announced cities are kinda dull to me

Someone can start the 2018 thread now

I don't think we're that far yet! With a new album coming out late summer, there's gotta be more shows cooking for November/December!

Yeah, I don't think I'm ready to give up on 2017. It's still very early in the year for announcements for Nov/Dec. we got lucky with Sept/Oct announcements but that has not been his pattern. Shows are usually announced much closer to The show. Time will tell

But time won't let me...wait that long!

Bob, if it will be Europe in Nov/Dec., it will be only UK or he will play more venues in other European countries? in 2018 - tour will start in Australia, I think
