Saw the movie this morning.    Was disappointed at the pace of the story, it seemed to go really slow at the beginning.  I also found it implausable that the world would ever have a "mass forget" of The Beatles.     I thought the choices the character made at the end of the movie were good, though, and of course enjoyed listening to all the great music!

      SPOILERS:

Was  disappointed Paul and Ringo weren't in it for at least a scene or two at the end... and if they showed what John was doing now, it would have been more interesting if they showed John, Paul, George and Ringo (or at least 3 of them) reuniting and letting the world know they had created the music... and the character Jack could have made them famous again and played music with them.      Even if Paul and Ringo didn't choose to do a scene, they could have hired lookalikes or just actors who could have doubled for them without seeing their face.  They showed John, so I guess I wanted to know (from the story) what Paul, Ringo and George would have been... if they hadn't become famous.

Talked to a fellow movie goer who absolutely loved the movie - she said she saw The Beatles in Kansas City in 1964, she was definitely a Beatle fan girl, and said anything that can get the Beatles' music out there for people to hear is a good thing.  She said nothing will stop her love for them!

Usually a movie trailer can at least peak my interest if it looks good. The trailer did not "get me" excited at all. I can't think of ANY reason that would make me want to see this. Even if it won Best Picture! It's just a ridiculous premise to make more money off The Beatles' name and image (without them actually being in it), and to have even more singers make bad cover versions of Beatles' songs!  I'll pass.

Yesterday was a complete blast!!  Wore my black BEATLES t-shirt to the show, and several attendees came up to me after the show.  If you love the Fab Four, you will have a blast.  Very emotional, very sad at times, but mostly fun and exciting.  Go see it now if you are a member of this site.  I promise, you will sing, cry, and shout.

Totally agree!  The critics seem to feel that way too.  I never got a good vibe from this one the very first time I heard about it.

I enjoyed the movie a lot.  Just hearing the songs with the great sound system that theatres have is neat. I wore a Beatles shirt.  I liked it so much I'm planning on going to see it a second time.  Yes, the premise of the movie is unbelievable but that is the case with lots of movies.  I laughed at parts and cried at parts.  I'd say, go see it and judge for yourself.

Took four teens (2 nieces, 2 nephews) to Yesterday today.  I loved this film more the second time around.  Forgot how funny it was, with several Beatle jokes mixed in that I caught today.  My nieces and nephews really liked it ALOT, which is saying alot today, with all the wham bam superhero movies out now.  Made them stay through the closing credits, since the real Beatles were playing Hey Jude.  They loved the music, but they really loved the story between Jack and El.  And the scene with John Lennon is shattering.  Corny, yes, but so uplifting.  If you are a member of this site, you REALLY need to go see this amazing, heartbreaking, funny, uplifting film.

Yes, the premise of the movie is unbelievable, but the Beatles had a wicked sense of humor.  They (especially John and George) would have loved the big joke, the "what if".

I thought it was paced very nicely.  I thought, before attending, that I might be looking at my watch at some point.  It didn't occur to me.  I loved every minute of it.

Obviously the premise is not realistic but if you just ignore that and sit back and try to enjoy it, it is cute and fun movie with songs we all love. I got a kick out of Ed Sheeran and his idea for new title for "Hey Jude" - lol.

Well, I finally saw it today! I also wore a Beatles shirt and brought my stuff in a Beatles bag (have to sneak in Peanut M&Ms!) The guy who played John (and was not even credited per his request I heard) was Robert Carlyle who is a 58 year old Scottish actor who played Mr. Gold (Rumplestiltskin) in the show Once Upon A Time (I recognized his voice first then his face under the makeup) Such a poignant scene!

I have not seen it, but many people I know (not huge Beatle fans) have urged me to see it. I'm really on the fence about this, and really value your opinion.

I loved it! Really enjoyed all the funny moments and “inside jokes.” You really should have seen it before reading all these spoilers! I was mad that Beatles4Ever&Ever gave away the big shocker in another unrelated thread. I would have liked to have been totally surprised.

So, what did you think, Nancy?

I have not seen it, but many people I know (not huge Beatle fans) have urged me to see it. I'm really on the fence about this, and really value your opinion.

I loved it! Really enjoyed all the funny moments and “inside jokes.” You really should have seen it before reading all these spoilers! I was mad that Beatles4Ever&Ever gave away the big shocker in another unrelated thread. I would have liked to have been totally surprised.

The news media gave it away long before I mentioned it.   Direct your anger elsewhere.  It was inescapable.   It seemed common knowledge.

I purposely avoided any reviews and we had a Spoiler thread here for the movie. It was not “inescapable” and was not common knowledge. In the future please try to be more cognizant of these things. Thank you. ✌️& ❤️

How many of you noticed this in the movie - reproduced by Jack in the boardroom photo on the wall? Same camera and everything!

I noticed that right away in the boardroom scene, and thought that was great, one of the few moments in the film that I really liked.  (Also liked hearing Hey Jude in the closing credits, and the scene with John.)

I thought the movie was nice, but not great...  if the director would have used Paul and Ringo or their lookalikes, I'd have liked it better.   Imagine the leading character of the story finding all of the surviving Beatles, and reuniting them and letting the world know who they are and having them play their music with him... that would have been a better ending! 🙂

Also the screenwriter could have developed more the characters of the two other fans that remembered... having them be family/friends of the forgotten Beatles or something might have worked better, since the audience was kind of hooked at wondering who they could be... (John's sister?  A roadie?).. In my opinion was kind of a letdown that they were just "fans" lol

Some very interesting thoughts Lady Leslie!!  Wish they had done some of those ideas... perhaps for a new film?

Myself, I took it as a lighthearted lark of a film.  It was enjoyable to go hear some Beatles music and I took it as life in an alternate dimension and how the Beatles songs endured even in another dimension!  Sort of a Star Trek type scenario! Beatles songs Rule!!! Actually, one of my friends did find it boring and gave it 2 stars.
