Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors

Shouldn't they be the ones concerned about McCartney's touring schedule?
Realistically, he tours here every year, so really is not a threat. They, however, tour every few years, so, like it or not, their tour is much more of an event. However, if he toured every three or four years, he would be much more formidable.
They both play such random and limited parts of the country when they come, I doubt they have to worry much about territorial overlapping anyway. But, it just makes more sense if they're keeping fans of both tours (which I'd imagine there are quite a lot out there) in mind, to spread them to avoid risk of having to choose.

I'm sure it will work out. I remember they toured real close in 1989. Everyone was happy!

But, of course, in those days concert tickets were a lot cheaper, so it wasn't as much of an issue to possibly go to two big shows. And that was Paul's first American tour in 13 years, making it more of an event than these days.

As I said already upthread, their tours overlapped in 2013, they were both doing arena shows in the US at exactly the same time.
-
"upthread" ... I like that.

I have a feeling that US summer dates will be very few, anorexic perhaps!
-
Bob- With that being said would you recommend one do a festival to see Paul this summer? Thanks!

I wish you posted that on April Fool's day! I've had this feeling also

C'mon Gina, I don't do April Fool's unfortunately I would suggest to seriously consider the two festivals. Maybe only a few others coming if at all. Although didn't someone say that Marshall Ltd said 8 more or something like that? It would make sense that any additions would be either before or after the Firefly or Lollapalooza festivals but as well all know, it doesn't always make sense!

right back at ya Phil!!!!

"If at all" discourages me. I guess only time will tell for sure. There hasn't been enough solid evidence to keep me confident in any US shows. Just .. wishin.. and hopin... As Dusty Springfield once sang!

Bob has been good to us as far as offering clues to US dates the last few years and Paul has been good to US for our concerts the last few years. We did get spoiled. Let the rest of the world enjoy Paul this summer. The U.S. is getting two festival dates so we are not totally shut out. I am hearing rumors though of an appearance at the LIVE EARTH at MetLife Stadium in 6/18. Personnel have been telling me this concert will be announced on Earth Day.
-
The USA can stand to take a break and Paul too. Maybe South America too.
-
Although if nothing is panning out for July & August...one must wonder if something is in the pipeline or fall? Got nothing to back that up but kind of strange unless he finally wanted to enjoy a large bulk of the summer for himself and family. And absolutely right, US fans have nothing to complain about, we have been spoiled by the amount of shows in comparison to other places. Glad I booked Liverpool though!!!

Birmingham is looking better and better and....

still staying away from Birmingham. Want to enjoy a few days in Liverpool without the hustle of running on back to back days
-
Thanks for checking in with us, Bob. I'll be bummed if he doesn't come around, but I would certainly understand.
-
Yes thanks Bob! I just got a VIPticket for Firefly; a hotel rooom opened up in Dover, Delaware so now it turned out to be a no brainer to go to this festival.
