Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors
-
Annette1:
Reports in some papers that Paul was going to be in the Concert at the VE Day Celebrations on May 9th, at Horse Guard Parade, I think it was all paper talk now as he isn't officially mentioned on the Govt website. Does anyone know otherwise, please.
The tickets(with additional charges) are about £40 each. The most classic rock seems to be from Status Quo but not anyone else that is going to draw the attention ( aside from Alfie Bow, Katherine Jenkins). There are some younger acts but no one with a recent hit (Jamila, Rebecca Ferguson, Pixie Lott). I've taken a crummy seat/Gamble on this one with the hope for McCartney as a late addition, but I can't understand why that rumour would get so much PR for nothing.

Struggling sales perhaps? add a rumour of a big name people will maybe take the gamble as lets be fair about it it is a fairly weak line up for this type of thing.

Ive also got tkts for a friend, a fan of Rod Stewart, and myself after reading Paul was going to be on the show. I agree the stars in the concert could have been chosen better .. It's a real let down. I'm just hoping Paul might go, but doubt it.

Why not just book Paul and then sell a load of tickets?

Status Quo's last album outsold NEW?????
'Driving Rain' hit the 60,000 Silver certification target in the UK after 2 months and that's it, 'Chaos And Creation' had Gold (100,000 copies) in the second week and stayed there. 'Memory Almost Full' only hit the 100,000 target after 6 full years, 'New' is not even a blip on the screen. The last Status Quo last year, though re-recordings of popular songs: Gold in a few weeks..
Quos New album is acoustic recordings of their own songs whereas 'Kisses On The Bottom' was mostly songs not written by McCartney which doesn't seem to have reached certification at all yet. Back on topic, it doesn't look like they're well be anymore McCartney UK shows this year except those next month.

I just scored Stones tickets for Pittsburgh on June 20th. So hopefully Philly won't be the same date!
Same here!

Not looking good for other dates... That's what I'm hearing But rumblings of Hartford ... Doubt it though Lets just say Paul and the Stones' Pennsylvania shows will most likely NOT fall on the same night
-
One wonders who would win, though. I remember hearing that Billy Joel and The Bee Gees had dueling NYE millennium gigs in NYC in '99. Billy CREAMED 'em, supposedly.

I can say with 99% certainty the Philly show is NOT the 20th... And duh, its Billy Joel for fucks sake!!

As it gets closer to the show, I would guess there is that slim chance. If at all, maybe at least one bigger act will close the show. I'm not trying to dismiss Status Quo, but the organisers can still get another band\headliner to join in. If we don't get Paul, someone else might want to get on live tv \radio. With all that said, it's 3 weeks away so which country would Paul be in on May 9th?

Citizens Bank Park is open from June 22nd-25th. Also, Wells Fargo is open on the 21st, 22nd , 23rd and 24th. So any of those dates would work...

I would imagine that Philly would be earlier in the overlap of their availability and Paul's. It's obviously the closest stop after Firefly, but it would be incredibly bizarre if he didn't do another show at the end of the week...possibly Hartford as mentioned above?
