Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors
-
I'd love him to do a whole new show focusing on songs he's never or rarely done. Lots of solo and Wings. No huge elaborate stage and light show. Smile Away. Rainclouds. Meanwhile, right now in Portland we have Garth Brooks doing 5 or 6 arena shows in 5 days. Gag. Yuck.
-
Set list could be interesting...in Nov of 2013' Japan has already seen this show so let's hope for so e changes. I know we'll never get a rarity type show but I'd be super happy if he did a change like a few years ago when he surprised us with 7 or 8 new ones. We'll find out soon. Could stay the same since Korea and Europe has not seen it

I hope you've been studying! Yeah, I don't think I'd trust The Sun too much. Who knows, their gossip could be coming from OUR discussions here.

Bob Gannon:
I believe the Sun is Britain's rag papers. Very gossipy If I remember correctly
Correct, Bob. Anything printed in The Sun should be taken with a (large) pinch of salt!

According to Hollywood.com, McCartney along with Elton John, Rod Stewart and Vera Lynn are to headline to headline a special concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. They are apparently set to perform at the 1940s-themed gig, which commemorates the end of the Second World War in 1945 to be held at Horse Guards Parade in London on 9th May 2015. There is a gap in his May touring schedule, so this gig can easily be accommodated. Apparently Paul, Rod Stewart and Elton John are out of the running for this as (the mighty) Status Quo and Katherine Jenkins have been announced as headliners for the VE Day show at Horseguards Parade on 9th May: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3040925/Status-Quo-Katherine-Jenkins-headline-VE-Day-concert-Event-series-commemorations-mark-70th-anniversary.html Good news for fans of The Quo like me, but unfortunately it looks very much like Paul's UK shows this year will only be his May shows in London, Birmingham and Liverpool. Who knows, though, he might surprise us with some special pre-Christmas shows like he did back in 2011.

Thanks Johnny, I thought my memory was good on that one

These sort of shows make my teeth itch, please honour the dead and the sacrifice they made and celebrate the anniversary of the end of the war by all means but not with fading pop stars.

This article might interest some of you. Apparently we've been trying to get Paul into my town for the last few years. Don't laugh, the Boise metro area is >650,000 nowadays, and even the Stones played here a few years ago. Hey, if he can play Missoula... http://www.idahostatesman.com/2015/04/10/3741489/a-stadium-concert-at-boise-state.html

He played Missoula. He could sure as hell play Boise. I will never understand him playing Missoula, Fargo, Lubbock, but never playing Albuquerque. Pretty much put me off him for now at least. I might emigrate to Australia!

Status Quo are hardly "fading popstars". Their last album sold over 100,000 copies in the UK alone, in the nine weeks after it's release and is still selling. The band consistently tour the UK and Europe selling out many of the venues they play.

Status Quo's last album outsold NEW?????

http://www.idahostatesman.com/2015/04/17/3755190/michael-deeds-readers-provide.html Too funny! A response article about previous outdoor concerts here, and the entertainment editor included my email to him about Paul signing my vinyl copy of "New" last year in SLC...

When you put it that way....does seem like goofy planning.

Hearing about Philadelphia... Bob are my ears correct?

Heard that too. I'm up for a five hour drive!
