Paul McCartney 2015 Rumors

Sgt._Pepper:
Steve Marinucci's Beatles Examiner page recently had an article ( http://www.examiner.com/article/beatles-news-beatles-show-celebration-ringo-birthday-events-macca-tribute ) about a number of different things, but it ended with this note: "And for those wondering if Paul McCartney will be adding more shows in the U.S., we say 'sit tight.'"

Sounds interesting

like WixRocks said in an earlier post about Firefly; they are not lugging across all their euipment/stage/etc for just a one off show for the Chicago festival. It makes economic sense to schedule a few more shows around 7/31. Where's Bob? Any new insight?
-
It may not make much sense but he did it a few times in 2008 and 2009 (Coachella was a "one off" for instance).

Bob was last spotted wandering in Liverpool on Matthew Street

well deserved-My east coast tour starts with Firefly
-
NY Date pls
-
I would guess mid-west or west coast dates in August and they'll probably be announced the week he's here. That's about the same length from announcement to concert date as the upcoming US shows.

Lollapalooza has a radius clause of 300 miles for six months before and three months after the festival. Often times, this can be broken or special permission can be granted from Lollapalooza to do so otherwise. For example, last year's headliners Outkast played a Summerfest in Milwaukee a month prior to Lollapalooza. While I doubt McCartney will play Milwaukee, it could be other places distant from Chicago. I would say at least 250+ miles. My vote is between Detroit, Des Moines, anything in Ohio, Omaha, and less likely Toronto, Buffalo, Madison, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Wichita. Who knows how far he could stretch? None of these places have been Out There, a few have been On the Run, some were Up and Coming, and then there are those he's never been before at all.

What do you think: Is there a chance Paul returns to Germany? I mean it's been quite a while now (4 years) and the Beatles and him are still VERY popular here

I wouldn't bet! It's a very strange matter that McCartney didn't returned since cologne 2011. Particularly due to the fact that he mentioned during his interview for NEW promotion on ZDF (autumn 2013) that he'll tour germany and europe soon... I spoke on sunday to someone who knows some insider infos. According to this our local taxes for concerts seems to be the major reason that there was no concert at the moment. IMO that's all very curios as we had 4 gigs 2009 while the rest of europe got also 4 gigs (Dublin, London, Arnheim, Paris). I can't imagine that the financial conditions did change since then :

...or that the phrase "financial conditions" is even a thought that should enter Paul's brain... :

Hm, Germany has had this extra tax (25%) since the late 90's and it never prevented Paul from playing there before. All it does is make the tix more expensive as artists want their full pay anyway, so the difference has to be covered by ticket prices. It's concerning all non-German acts who play there.
-
These acts can't play everywhere. U2 and McCartney are huge, so they can be selective and expect fans to travel to see them. Fans in Germany are expected to go to France and Amsterdam and Norway to see Paul in 2015. U2 played Phoenix and Denver so New Mexico and Utah fans are expected to travel to those cities if they want to see the band.
-
Didn't know about the taxes though

My bad. I thought that was On The Run considering most of that tour was baseball stadiums in 2011. I had it confused with Wrigley that year.

He's more than welcome to come back to Milwaukee, though! Just please not Miller Park again....Worst...acoustics...ever!!! From somewhere over Canada heading home!
