would be a thrill if he sang "Help!" it occurs to me, I thought maybe they shouldn't have done that silly movie "Help!" but the songtrack redeems it "Help!" sounds like sort of a cool rockabilly-influenced number to me, kind of folk rock too, and kind of another genuis song
No, no, no, no, NO! He does not need more Beatles songs weighing down the set. He needs to delve into his more recent work and stop harping on about the Beatles! Besides, the solo stuff is as good if not better than the Beatles. Less Help, more Hope (of Deliverance!)
Finally, we agree on something!

I wanted to let this rest, but this is just too daft to let it slip:

[..] Sarcasm is a wonderful thing, but perhaps you could use a little common sense and not use it in posts? And again, feel free to stop taking swipes at countries that aren't your own.
Don't be silly now. Taking swipes at countries?! You know you are quoting my post in which I explained what I meant with my initial post for those who can't read, even corrected it while I had no reason to, right? Is this still not good enough for you? Next time I will use loads of smileys in every sentence, just in case you misunderstand what I'm trying to say .
Do whatever you like.

NOOOO!!! It would be absolutely sacrilegious if Paul did not perform "Yesterday".
If most of the audience are casual fans then they probably won't even notice if he doesn't do it.
He didn't sing "Yesterday" at the BBC Electric Proms concert in 2007, and I actually didn't realize that he'd skipped it until the concert was over! I think I was rather mesmerized by seeing him do "House of Wax" .
point proven! Lol
I would love him to do "House of Wax", awesome song. IMO - audience may not know it but with killer vocal by McCartney and cool guitar riffs I think it would go over very well.

I watched the youtube clip of "Hope of Deliverance" from opening night in Brazil and McCartney really seems to enjoy doing the song, especially doing some harmony with Abe- lol.

Might be a BIT of an overstatement...... :
Yes but IMO McCartney's solo stuff is better than Wings.

Ahem. Back on topic ... I would like to propose one other little change to the set list that I wish Paul would consider. I love Hey Jude. I want to hear it in July. But I wish he would drop the boy-girl singalong and just do the song and let us all join in.
Funny you should mention that. I was thinking about this idea for "Hey Jude" yesterday: This may be cheeky, but I think Paul should expand the sing-a-long. Seriously. "Now it's the veggies' turn!" "OK -- now only the sexy people." (a concert can't-fail tactic ) "OK -- the Wings fans." "And now THE BEATLE fans!" Change it up a bit.
He could do a special version for the forum: "And now the folks that think I play South America too much!" "How about the folks who hate that I tour the US so much!" "Everyone still bitter about the Premium Membership fiasco!" "Now the folks who are in debt because of me!" "Everyone who thinks my voice is going!" "And now the folks who think I should stop dying my hair!" "How about the banned members?"
I find this hilarious! I'd be singing in groups 3 & 4.

Ditto for me. Loud screaming and clapping for number 3.

I have high hopes that HOD stays in the setlist, but after seeing how he keeps "Mull" out of the setlist in most countries, I worry.

Might be a BIT of an overstatement...... :
but just an opinion.
Again, thank you for sticking up for someone with the 'unpopular opinion'! People round here don't like it if you don't conform and lap up the Beatles, do they! Jeeeez...
I wasn't even referring to opinons. If you look at the songs and JUST the songs...pretend Paul McCartney has nevr performed live and all we have are recordings. Would the solo stuff be "good if not better than the beatles"? Try to leave all bias out, it is hard. The means of recording songwriting and, performance on record by The Beatles albums blows away McCartney albums. Don't get me wrong, most McCartney albums are TOP NOTCH. I want more solo in the setlist, but at the expense of "Let it Be" or "Hey Jude"? Come on...be realistic...

That's what made '89 and '90 comeback tour so special. It's been done! Regardless of who was born then or not.

Not to take a sharp personal turn or anything but, with that attitude...I would've never heard "Hey Jude" live. Does any fan of Paul McCartney's music deserve that?

They deserve "House Of Wax" more...because it's a solo track. Not a track by The Beatles.

I agree...Look at sales alone...I bet paul considers what the dollars for each has done for him...Just as stated on here that is why he plays more Beatles in Brazil..I do not believe that is the case because I think he will not drastically change the setlist for here. Sorry Audi..I love the Wings and solo stuff but like the old saying "Dance with the one who brought you. I would have been really disappointed the first time I saw him if he did not do those classics. In my opinion this forum appears to be slanted more towards the solo and Wings material, and that is fine but this is a minute percentage of the world of music fans, most do not take the time to get into a lot of the solo material. Just my opinion..Don't crucify me..LOL
-
"Hey Jude," "Let It Be," "Yesterday" and "Maybe I'm Amazed" are the defining songs of his career. That's fine with me.

Okay, this is where we aren't lining up then. Hey Jude is a track recorded by The Beatles. But no matter what the credits say it was written by Paul McCartney so, it's his song. I view Paul's career as ONE entity, because it is. It should not matter when Paul McCartney wrote that song, or who played on it, or wht chart position it reached but how good the song is and ow well it hs stood the test of time. For "Hey Jude", it has stood the test as one if not his most popular song. ...does "Being for the benefit of mr. kite!" fall into this category? Not. one. bit. ......but my opinion is VERY excited to hear it. ops:

I also think that we need to know how much input Paul had in that song, but I agree it is more of a John song and ..I welcome it would I rather hear Uncle Albert or mull of kyntire sure I would...

OK... 12 years being a member of this forum- I still find it disheartening.. ppl ganging up on others.. I personally know, some members, on this forum.. some great lovely ppl... it seems like some, like to talk a bunch of smack.. to provoke or in site fights~ ridiculous.. as always.. I bet half the crap ppl say on this board - they wouldn't say to someones face... get real...shouldn't we all be grateful Paul McCartney is still touring? If you're so upset about Macca's set list don't go simple as that ... Paul McCartney, can and does play what he wants.. sorry, if you are so gutted by what he performs.. sad for you...be fortunate you have the $$$ to see him at all...cos he could not tour than what? also, I read, no where, where racism was interjected.. in this thread ..Without emotion or actually hearing someones voice .. things could be misinterpreted... on the net, no matter where you post... folks get tired of reading all the negativity about Paul on this board his official webby . of course people have opinions but when those negatives out weigh the positives- on a chronic basis... it becomes a drag... Now- how bout some sax for Listen To What The Man Says...
