If you count solo Beatle and Beatle cover albums, I (or my wife in the case of The McCartney Years - my birthday present) have bought 3 Beatle related products in the past 2 weeks: The already mentioned TMY The new special edition of MAF The soundtrack to Across The Universe Now I'm broke (just j/k )

Silly Love Songs sung by Donnyand Mary Osmond and Sony and Cher
(Paul cover)Here's another (ahem) 'interpretation' by the Red House Painters. This is kind of Darth Vader meets Silly Love Songs...But a fair warning, this is over 10 minutes long and the vocals don't even start until the 4:50 mark...consider it some sort of a moral victory if you can make it through the first 4:50 of irritating guitar solos from this band of obviously tortured individuals. Then once you hear the vocals...you'll be asking yourself, I waiting almost 5 minutes to hear this? And for whatever reason, on this particular video, you can't fast forward through. Anyway, here it is (don't say I didn't warn you )
I'm half hoping Paul himself hears this and pulls the plug on it -
RE: What rarities should Paul do?
DunceCap Distributors Ltd:
audrey:
but he did play calico skies last june and i never thought he would do that
Jog my memory...where did he perform it live in June 2006? Don't you recall the dozens and dozens of times he's played it live on tour since 2002? And at least 2 different live performances have been officially released on cd. DCD Ltd.
That would've had to been one of the 'secret shows' (London, NY or LA)....and that would be 2007.

RE: What rarities should Paul do?
Rocky Racoon, Come And Get It (I wonder how many non/casual fans realize this is a Macca tune), Smile Away, Back Seat Of My Car, Tomorrow, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five, I'm Carrying, Getting Closer (I think we can consider this obscure to non/casual fans despite the fact that it was a minor hit back in 1979)...and just too many more to mention. Also, since he dove way back to a covered oldies on his last tour (Till There Was You), he could probably do A Taste Of Honey to cover that same type of slot (or whatever you call it).

While I've heard/knew of this situation, I've never seen any news clips associated with it...until just a few minutes ago.
Here another drug bust clip on Paul.
It's too bad that the clip you provided cuts off the end where he gave that sarcastic wink after saying he would never do drugs again...it's one my favorite Macca/media moments ever

I never knew there was a live version of Only Love Remains:
Btw, aside from Linda, who is the other woman on backing vocals?Paul is sing this song on the British tv program The Tube. And is indeed a very rare live version of Only Love Remain. Linda sings in the background.
Two women are singing backround vocals: one is Linda, who is the other?

RE: Moving Pictures - a thread for YouTube clips of the Beatles!
Incredible footage The Beatles actually performed together in the mid 90's...including John (actually somebody's idea of a good laugh-or too much time on their hands)

RE: WINGS FUN CLUB - recollections?
Aside from all the nice magazines, posters and other knick knacks, I recall 1) getting the Russian album free back when it was a highly sought after rarity and 2) getting to see Paul live for the first time back in 1989 via an offer through the fan club. ...and yes, I used to carry my card membership in my wallet and even once tried to use it as a second form of ID (I was young ops: )

I'm not sure if this is for this thread or not...but it's something I never knew existed...a Ray Charles cover of The Long And Winding Road.

Topics discussed include the recording and release of the "Cloud 9" album, Paul's "no show" at the Beatles induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and George's current relationship with both Ringo and Paul. Broadcast: 10th February 1988. Part 1:
Part 2:Good interview...thanks

RE: The Pigs have flown
Tori in Texas:
Dark Side of the Moon is so great. It was on the best seller list in the US for like 7 years straight or something. In the US we say something will happen 'when pigs fly'. BTW - There was a flying pig in the Simpsons episode with Paul and Linda, too.
With an apple in it's mouth...that was somehow sad to see, especially in context of that episode's topic.

RE: Paul McCartney - YouTube Videos
Toot and a snore-John and Paul's 'performance' together back in 1974. Although this is a Youtube video, the video portion is really only a photograph of John and Paul. It's mostly an audio piece John singing Stand By Me and Paul providing backround vocals:

I believe this song was posted earlier. However, the link had broken for me (and I assume everyone else)...so here it is again-You Won't See Me from Madrid

Paul on stage with Gary Glitter during one of his Buddy Holly gigs. The date on the tape indicates this is from 1996, although I have no other way to verify that. Edit***oops-I forgot the link
