That's fantastic! I know it was roundly and soundly panned when it originally aired, but I actually like it.

If true, this is great!! I certainly hope Apple gives this similar treatment as yellow submarine because that release was handled perfectly! Its good to hear that it is being released Bluray, because that implies that it it getting remastered. Additionally, they could add all kinds of extra features... Initially, I was a bit disappointed that The Rolling Stones and The Beach Boys were getting so much publicity for their 50th anniversaries (and they were capitalizing on it) yet The Beatles didn't seem to be doing anything special. If this rumor is true, then at least they could say that they released remastered DVDs of two of their classic films. Very exciting news!!

I still haven't picked up "Yellow Submarine" on Blu Ray. My B'day is less than two weeks. I think I'm going to drop the hint to my better half.

This is excellebt if true, though why hasn't the official site annouced it? Or has it? This is cool, and I also would like the LEt It be movie released on dvd/blur ray. infact, I really cannot undertsand why it isn't available.

Hasn't been announced as far as I know. And about Let It Be, you're preachin' to the choir!

Not available for order yet....but here is the link: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Magical-Mystery-Tour-Blu-ray/53311/ I believe the release date is Oct. 9... John's birthday.

I thought they were mentioning a "bonus" disc with this release. That may be worth the price of buying it (again).

Paul is doing an audio commentary for this release. That's really the only reason I'll be getting it.

I just read this rumor on the Beatles Examiner, I think. It was on someone's Facebook status. I don't think it's a definite, mind you. Just a rumor. Since it was his baby though, maybe he is?

I suppose its possible. At any rate, it would be a great idea (hey Apple:*hint-hint* :wink! Either way, I'll probably get this official release anyway because many of the DVD versions going around out there are terrible! As I said before, if Apple puts in a similar effort with MMT as they did with YS (in terms of remastering quality and extra features) I think it would be worth getting... Especially since I'm dying to toss out the version I have now!

Paul's commentary is listed on the British Board of Film Classification's website along with other extras. http://www.bbfc.co.uk/BVV091435/ This means Paul has recorded his commentary and it's been approved for release.

If it will have Paul's comments then I must have it even though the movie itself is just terrible (besides the music and the fact that they're in it of course). I wonder though how much he remembers of making it because of the drugs and stuff, in Anthology he didn't even remember who's "fault" the movie was
-
Is it gonna see a regular dvd release as well or only on blue ray? Blue ray/dvd combo pack? I checked the info but it didn't seem to indicate...............
-
Excellent news, a film way ahead of it's time. If only for the fool on the hill and the stripper scene. lol Paul's commentary is a great bonus. Vindication for Paul with MMT.

And that's funny because by most accounts, it was his baby from start to finish.
